Barcelona will be the audiovisual capital of Latin America during ISE 2024
As a guest at the European Union – Latin America Summit taking place in Brussels, Mike Blackman, general director of Integrated Systems Events, has announced that during the celebration of WHEREAS 2024, Barcelona will also be the audiovisual capital of Latin America, a decision supported by the Government of Spain that exercises the presidency of the community institution.
As you have pointed out Mike Blackman in a statement, “as general director of WHEREAS (the most important audiovisual fair in the world), I have had the privilege of attending invited by the advice of the UE. The reason for this invitation is the decision that at ISE we have made to bet heavily on Barcelona being, during the days of the fair, the audiovisual capital also of Latin America. A bet that since Government of Spain y, specifically, from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation They have fully supported.
This way, Barcelona will host the days 30 y 31 January 2024 the first AV Latin American Summit, an event of great significance to which the Barcelona City Council -first from the hand of the mayor, There's Colau, and now with Jaume Collboni as the new municipal mayor-, has invited the presidents and ministers of the main Latin American countries to participate and for which from the Generalitat of Catalonia, through Accio “It is already working to make it a success with its network of offices on that continent”.
A quote in which “governments and companies - explains Blackman in the statement- they will have the opportunity to share challenges, good practices, study investments and work together key aspects for the sector such as artificial intelligence; the green transition or productivity and talent.
A sector that this year represents 307 billions of dollars, with an annual growth of 5% and where Europe represents 82 trillion, Spain 3,9 and Latin America 13, according to data provided by the ISE organization.
“Some topics and magnitudes that will configure a first-level agenda where, besides, The European Union will also have its room to improve, even more, its relations with that great continent that goes from Mexico to Chile and Argentina, passing through Colombia and Brazil, inter alia".
During ISE 2024 in Barcelona, “Ministerial and business delegations will meet so that the city can once again be bridge between Europe and Latin America -subraya Blackman-, resuming its key role as global capital and, in this case, a reference for all of Latin America. A clear case where with the same language, similar culture, Welcoming Barcelona and Catalonia bring out their best to promote exchanges and business, and become the context of the most important fair in the sector in the global space of business and global relations”.
Already in the last edition of ISE, held last February in Barcelona Fair – Gran Via (more data in Digital AV), close to a 10% of the exhibitors came from Latin America, Brazil being the country with the most presence, followed closely by Mexico and then by Colombia, Argentina, Peru and Chile.
New stadium scoreboards, screens for big shows, public address and signaling systems, home audio, party rooms or shopping complexes, visual and sound systems for large clothing chains, urban mapping systems will be protagonists, again, in Barcelona, “with the important novelty that, besides, governments, Institutions and companies will have a new exchange platform, good practices and business that will be AV Latin American Summit”.
As Blackman concludes, “for the institution I direct, Barcelona is a certain and safe bet, to which by adding the opportunity that this AV Latin American Summit represents for everyone, we ensure, besides, a lasting relationship, of affection, admiration and shared success”.
