Telefonica con America Cup Experience

Telefónica has become the main technological provider of the America’s Cup Experience, the new official dissemination center of the America's Cup, which has recently been inaugurated and will be open until May 2025. Through immersive and gamified experiences, informs the citizens of this sailing competition that will be held next year in the waters of Barcelona.

The technological project designed by Telefónica for this space covers diverse areas such as the installation of audiovisual systems responsible for immersive experiences about the Copa América, connectivity, capacity control and flow of people, perimeter security or fire protection services.

To represent the official film of the America's Cup in cinematographic format One Hell of a Battle, which will be displayed through a large format screen, the second largest in Europe and the largest in Spain, con 611 square meters, Telefónica has installed a laser projector with 4K format of 4,096×2.160 pixels, a luminosity of 52.000 lumens and an innovative surround sound system.

Immersive experience

The 'Immersive Experience' has been equipped with six 1DLP laser-phosphor projectors with a resolution of 2,716×1.600 pixels and a luminosity of 12.000 lumens that generate a coordinated projection on a screen 128 square meters.

This space is based on movement, the interaction, light and technology, to transmit the emotions of the competition and make them available to visitors. Soon, The room will have wind effects for full immersion.

In the space called 'Time Tunnel', Telefónica has installed a multimedia gallery consisting of one hundred screens of different formats and synchronized with each other. This space surrounds the visitor and explains how the competition has evolved and changed throughout history.. The screens located, both on the wall and on the ceiling, generate a sensation of digital wave over the attendees.

The 'Immersive Experience' and the 'Time Tunnel' are linked by the 'Projection Corridors', a space equipped with back-projected sail-shaped fabrics.
