This non-profit organization, founded in 1989, It focuses its activity on fighting hunger and poverty through training and job creation. recently, moved to a larger facility, the Michael R Center. Klein for Employment and Justice, to accommodate your staff and volunteers. The previous one no longer met the needs of space and more up-to-date technology was needed to manage the organization.

For the new installations of 10.973 square meters, DC Central Kitchen Partnered with Technology Integrator One Source Systems to select a control system and relied on Crestron's technology to support the multiple elements that have been installed in this space. It was important to DCCK that the technology be easy to use and reliable, as many volunteers use the facilities.

Technology, Functionality & Design

DCCK provides services to 19 schools to the area and provides locally sourced ingredients for breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. With a mission focused on culinary endeavors and giving back, It has a uniquely designed space that features state-of-the-art kitchens and collaborative spaces to support community impact planning. Two kitchens can be found with experienced workers preparing meals and training volunteers.

The second floor is made up of workstations and conference rooms, allowing for greater participation among staff, Volunteers & Students.

The Klein center combines functionality and design to meet the needs of the organization and equip the staff.

There's a casual coffee shop run by graduates of the DCCK culinary program that includes speakers and menu boards managed by a Crestron system which ensures that all items are clearly visible for purchase and all orders are heard.

Two video walls take up space at The Klein Center. The first is front and center when guests come in to show donors, and the other is in The Hub, used for large community engagement events and staff meals.

The building also has a studio with the capacity to broadcast to any audience, using a Crestron backbone as support. This room requires specific scenes to be set.

the Crestron AirMedia conferencing technology It's connected to every TV. There are eight rooms, including two boardrooms, those for volunteers and one for training where any user can enter, connect your laptop via HDMI connectivity and collaborate with a group. DCCK uses this for live editing, where everyone can participate and see what's happening on the screen.

The rooms where volunteers prepare and help serve food are also equipped with video conferencing, Speakers & Touchscreens.

Being involved with schools and neighborhood stores in the DC region, DCCK relies on video conferencing technology to communicate with those entities about when to deliver prepared foods and fresh produce.

DC Central Kitchen uses Crestron's room scheduling throughout its office space to book meetings for a set period of time. Room scheduling dashboards reduce double-booking hiccups throughout the office by indicating when a meeting room is in use or open.

On the backend, IT team uses Crestron Technology Operations Management Platform XiO Cloud to collect data on which rooms are occupied and used most frequently.
This technology is also used to manage and monitor each platform remotely and ensure everything is up-to-date.

the Control Platform based on Crestron software VC-4 Operate multiple rooms across the network from one centralized location. For One Source Systems, Taking advantage of this application means simplifying deployment by allowing a single program to be deployed across multiple rooms.

The implementation of technology throughout the new building has allowed the staff to, DCCK students and volunteers have a greater impact in the communities they serve. It often hires graduates of the program for full-time positions, And larger spaces and a greater presence of technology have set the organization up for success.
