Ideum at MSC Helios Wine Bar

The Helios Wine Bar space on MSC's new cruise ship houses six touch tables of Ideum, of which two are large format with capacity for eight people. These have been designed to be used both in the wine tasting experience and in the masterclasses. The remaining four allow for more personal tasting experiences.

Early summer, The last cruise of MSC, the Euribia, set sail for the first time and among the AV installations that have been made on board is the equipment provided by Ideum, used to offer travelers a permanent interactive wine tasting experience.

I had to develop software and custom touch tables to create an open tasting app with nearly a hundred wines and a program that allows up to eight guests to take an interactive wine course (Masterclasses).

The space Helios Wine Bar (Helios Wine Maker) It houses six touch tables, two of which are large format, Sleeps up to eight people. These tables can accommodate both the open wine tasting experience and more directed masterclasses, which were designed by MSC's Food & Beverage group. The remaining four, known as couple tables, allow for more intimate tasting experiences.

This has been a project in which almost all the Ideum groups have participated. The creative services department has been responsible for developing the software that uses its object recognition SDK Tangible Engine, and the manufacturing group has been responsible for the design of the customised touch tables that incorporate the large-format and open-frame touch screens Ideum Inline. Likewise, MSC partners have also participated in this initiative, Sponsiv Digital and Malta Solutions.

MSC Euribia is one of the first LNG-powered cruise ships, reducing greenhouse gas emissions from a trip by up to 20 percent. Additional innovations, such as the on-board wastewater treatment system and energy-efficient equipment, further improve the ship's environmental footprint.
