The Gynn stadium sets a benchmark in sound with Dynacord and Electro-Voice

Two point source speakers have been installed Electro-Voice MTS-4153-64, one for each side of the field, with low end support, provided by four dual X12-128 subwoofers 18 inches. These devices are powered by amplifiers Dynacord IPX.

“The sports complex recently built a field house behind the stadium with an all-glass wall facing the football field”, explains Anthony Stubelek, AV East owner. “The impact of that wall was wreaking havoc on the sound of the existing system, installed together with the Led scoreboard a few years ago”.

While Stubelek was gathering options for the complex, your audiovisual partner in the project iMint Media opted for Electro-Voice MTS speakers, that he had heard at the installation of another stadium.

“After analyzing them it seemed that the MTS were what we needed”, Stubelek adds.. “I contacted my sales representative, Jordan Smith, of Sales Force & Associates, and I explained our requirements”.

Smith recommended two MTS-4153-64, one for each side of the field, with low-end support provided by four subwoofers X12-128 duales of 18 inches. series amplifiers Dynacord IPX power speakers and subwoofers.

The two weatherproof MTS speakers are mounted to the scoreboard with custom brackets, designed and built by Stubelek. Selected models combine four woofers 15 inches with two coaxial mid/high compression drivers through a single waveguide in a design focused on cohesive output with powerful bass response.

Along with its very high output and long range capability, 60 coverage pattern×40 keeps output precisely focused with the intelligibility and impact needed for an optimal outdoor audio experience. All four subwoofers are located below the scoreboard on a custom platform, also designed by Stubelek, which keeps them away from the splash zone of rain and standing water.

Dynacord IPX multi-channel DSP amplifiers, for fixed installation applications, drive the system. They are equipped with a Omneo IP network architecture, which allows the Dante networking and OCA/AES70.

IPX series models also feature high-resolution DSP 96 kHz, with low latency and a high signal-to-noise ratio, and sophisticated technologies for greater energy efficiency and system protection.

The two MTS boxes work with an IPX10:4 (with an output capacity of up to 10.000 watts on four channels), while the four X12-128 subwoofers do so with an IPX20:4 (with a total output capacity of up to 20.000 watts). And IPX10:4 Additional is located on site for redundancy purposes. Amplifiers are mounted in climate-controlled, weather-resistant racks below the scoreboard.

“When I logged into the sound system software Dynacord Sonicue and I checked the equalization curve, needed minimal adjustment, which is unusual. The range of each speaker was exactly what Jordan and my computer models told me, in terms of distance and SPL”, Stubelek finishes.
