Broadcast live for the first time in history from Seville, the 24a edition of the Grammy Latinos had the wireless system Shure Axient Digital and its software to guarantee audio in the performances of this celebration.

Chosen for its robust and reliable signal quality, the wireless system Shure Axient Digital has starred in the audio system that has been used in the recent and successful gala of the Grammy Latinos de 2023, held in the Spanish city of Seville.

To guarantee a uniform RF coverage throughout the gala and avoid any technical failure, has been counted on 60 wireless channels of the Axient Digital system and with 32 in-ear personal monitoring PSM 100, also from Shure, supplied by flights.

As pointed out Michael Bové, responsible for the monitoring mix of the Latin Grammys of 2023, “the PSM system 1000 from Shure is a proven reliable piece within the complex puzzle of any live gala, “where high-quality audio is needed as well as exceptional RF stability.”.

To guarantee actions in such a congested environment, it is essential to carry out precise monitoring and efficient control of signals.. To achieve, the gala's technical team used the software Wireless Workbench (WWB) y Wavetool de Shure, which allowed Diego Nunes Pereira, RF coordinator of the Latin Grammys, track to control multiple systems simultaneously.

Thanks to information monitoring, like battery status, RF signal strength and audio levels, as well as continuous scanning using the spectrum manager Shure Axient Digital AD600, RF technicians were able to act quickly and ensure flawless execution.

“The recordings of the spectrum and the timelines save your life in any live show,” says Nunes Pereira.- and I always have them in front of me at all my events. Shure systems not only offer exceptional RF performance, but the associated software is unmatched”.

Also, Wavetool has been a key piece of the software used during rehearsals and at the gala. Each member of the RF team has had their own client of this program to monitor different channels simultaneously.

“At the same time an artist is on stage, There may be two others who are being bugged as they prepare to leave.”, punctuates Diogo Nunes Pereira.

The gala began with a masterful performance by Rosalía covering the popular song Our love broke and received applause from the public, in which the artist used a Shure KSM9HS microphone to sing first alone, and later with the accompaniment of a group of clappers and guitars with thirteen AD1 transmitters from this manufacturer (photography of Kevin Winter/Getty Images for the Latin Recording Academy).

Alex Guessard, music mixer (FOH) from the Latin Grammys, points out that “in front of the dynamic and varied lineup of performances at the Latin Grammys, Shure Axient Digital masterfully combines precision and passion. I have been especially impressed by the ease with which you have managed to capture the essence of Rosalía's inaugural performance, with all his power".

Among other artists who participated in the gala and have also trusted Shure are Ozuna, that for his performance with David Guetta has used a KSM11 cardioid wireless microphone Nickel color that offers a transparent and natural sound; Alejandro Sanz, with a microphone KSM8 Dualdyne with dynamic cardioid capsule to cover his great success Broken heart, y Sweep, who used a AD2 Wireless Handheld Transmitter with KSM9HS Capsule custom made in green color.

Also, the iconic vocal microphone Shure SM58 was chosen for the performances of Juanes and his choir; Hi Flow; Carín León and Pablo Alborán, while Sebastian Yatra added a handheld transmitter to it ADX2.

The Shure team was present at the gala to help the technicians, along with Luis Lopez, audio specialist Earpro&EES, distributor of this manufacturer in Spain.

This is what he points out Javier Ocampo, Senior Director of Market Development at Shure: “It has been an honor to work with the sound engineers and artists during the Latin Grammys of 2023. By providing them with advanced software and technical equipment, everyone has been able to offer the public a memorable experience. “They have made the most of the potential of our teams to create magical moments on stage”.
