Adamson helps revolutionize the way audiences experience musical theater
The sound system Adamson has allowed us to overcome the challenges presented by the architecture of the Tivoli theater to stage the musical 'The choir boys’. For this, A design based on two L+R clusters accompanied by a central cluster has been installed.
The use of Adamson system, brand that distributes SeaSound, in it Tivoli theater from Barcelona for 'The Choir Boys', under the direction of Javier Isequilla, has overcome the acoustic challenges inherent to the space and set a new standard in the listening experience of live musicals.
Technology and creativity converge in this show offered at the Tivoli Theater to revolutionize the way the public experiences musical theater, reaffirming the power of music as a tool for transformation and human connection.
The musical 'The Choir Boys' is inspired by the story of Clément Mathieu, an unemployed music teacher who finds a job opportunity as a security guard at a boarding school for troubled youths. Through the creation of a choir, seeks to transform the lives of these kids, facing the rigid methods of the center director. Music becomes the vehicle to awaken camaraderie, solidarity and love among students, demonstrating the transformative power of art.
The Tivoli Theater, with its rich history and architecture, presents an acoustic that, although it is rich in character, poses specific challenges due to its early 20th century design. The combination of construction materials, The shape of the auditorium and the presence of detailed ornamentation can generate unwanted echoes and reverberations, affecting sound clarity.
The implementation of the Adamson sound system, supplied by rental company Project Art, has been key to overcoming these obstacles, adapting technology to this space and ensuring that every note and word reaches attendees with maximum fidelity.
Javier Isequilla approaches each project with a holistic approach, considering not only the technical needs of the space but also the artistic vision of it. Their philosophy focuses on creating sound experiences that complement and enhance the narrative., working with the creative team to ensure sound design integrates with visual and performance elements. In 'The Choir Boys', The use of the Adamson system reflects this philosophy, where every adjustment and configuration is made with the viewer's total experience in mind.
“We were looking for a sound system that met three essential criteria. It was essential to have a active system, a self-powered solution that allowed us to facilitate its implementation in various environments. Secondly, considering the tour scheduled for different theaters, It was crucial that the equipment be very light and easy to transport. Finally, the most important aspect was the need for a sound system that guaranteed exceptional linearity, ensuring a flat and coherent frequency response throughout its entire coverage area, and that would give us the greatest sound pressure level (SPL) possible", comments Javier Isequilla.
The design created by Javier stands out for incorporating, as main elements, two L+R clusters accompanied by a central cluster. This configuration is characteristic in his creations, providing us with a focused and balanced sound image. Besides, This distribution is essential in projects such as 'The Boys in the Choir', which are situated somewhere between theater and musical., fusing the best of both worlds for an unmatched listening experience.
