Atlético de Madrid revalidates its confidence in LG's Led innovation for its stadium
This project, the most ambitious developed by LG to date in the sports field, represents a real technological challenge, with more than 2.000 m2 of high performance and image quality Led screens, and a spectacular ellipse-shaped LED mesh Sky Ribbon.
LG and the Club Atlético de Madrid will work together again to guarantee visitors to the Metropolitan City and 360º visual show, thanks to the installation of a spectacular Sky Ribbon over 400 meters of length of Led mesh, never before installed in a football stadium.
LG Electronics thus becomes responsible for the development and installation of the new LED technology in the red-and-white stadium “to elevate its modernization and place it among one of the most cutting-edge in the world.”.
The project represents “an authentic technological challenge”, since it involves the development of more than 2.000 m2 of customized and custom-designed Led screens, to offer fans and visitors to the stadium a differential audiovisual experience with the best image quality.
As was already done for the inauguration of the stadium 2017 (more details in Digital AV), The club has once again trusted the technology of the Korean multinational to take the modernization of its stadium further.
Already then, LG was responsible for the development and installation of the video scoreboards and the ribbon that surrounds the entire field in its middle part, in addition to displaying a multitude of screens throughout all the stands, both in VIP areas and in seats.

LG will not only provide the stadium's new AV technology, but will also be an official sponsor of Club Atlético de Madrid. In this sense, Oscar Mayo, general director of revenue and operations of Club Atlético de Madrid, underlines that “LG is the best possible partner to elevate the audiovisual experience of all viewers who come to the Cívitas Metropolitano. Sky Ribbon: 360º visual spectacle
The heart of the new technological project is the Sky Ribbon, an impressive Ellipse-shaped Led screen that will crown the stadium roof, made up of almost 2.000 meters of flexible mesh, with a shine of 7.500 nits.
Your design, suitable for the oval and trapezoidal structure of the sports facility, will create a 360º visual effect “capable of captivating attendees from any point in the stadium.”, whether in football games, concerts or more corporate events”.
In addition to the Sky Ribbon, LG's collaboration with Atlético de Madrid covers more areas of the stadium, with installation – in the concrete columns that are currently at the entrances of the same- of four external circular Led screens, High brightness and image quality, to welcome fans as they arrive at the stadium.
To this visual display will also be added a Led display type banner, with dimensions of 45 m2, that will crown the Puerta 34 and will have a design integrated with the architecture of the rojiblanco stadium.
The LG experience will also extend to the press room of the club, which equates a large LED screen to provide professionals with the best image quality also inside the stadium.
Besides, he locker room tunnel, neuralgic point of the previous matches, will be visually transformed with an installation of new Led panels that will cover the walls and the exit arch to the field, immersing players in the passion of football from the moment they step on the pitch.
All LG Led screens that will be installed in the Cívitas Metropolitano will have refresh rates greater than or equal to 3,840Hz to avoid any type of flickering in television broadcasts, offering a smooth and sharp image both for those attending the stadium and for spectators following the game from home.
Besides, los redundancy drivers They guarantee the uninterrupted operation of the Led screens, thus ensuring a flawless visual experience at all times.
The LEDs that will be installed outside the stadium have the IP65 category so that they are protected from inclement weather. Besides, each of the projects in the different areas will have different maintenance systems so that, in case it is necessary, club operators have easy access to them.
