CUE solutions control the AV system in the URJC classrooms
For this project the all-in-one control system has been installed CUE Touchcue-7, which incorporates a touch control panel as a user interface and has an IP controller integrated into the same device.
King Juan Carlos University (URCJ) was looking for a solution that would allow teachers to use the technological means with which the classrooms were being equipped. CUE, brand that distributes AVIT Vision provided this project with control panels that combine high resistance to use, aesthetics, versatility and customized software, in addition to incorporating a friendly user interface, Provides monitoring of AV media usage that allows managers to anticipate failures before they happen.
Con 45.240 students enrolled in degrees, masters and doctorates, King Juan Carlos University, It is the second public university with the most students in the region and the fifth in Spain. With more than 270 qualifications, welcome this course to 4.161 foreign students from 105 nationalities.
With campus in Alcorcón, Aranjuez, Fuenlabrada, Mostoles and Madrid, has been on board since 2021 in the complete remodeling of the audiovisual systems present in the teaching classrooms on its campuses. It sought to simplify the use and maintenance of the audiovisual technology that would be integrated into this comprehensive remodeling.. For a project of this magnitude, The URJC wanted a technology provider that would provide a reliable solution that could adapt to the specific needs required by the center's technology managers..
The URJC project included many audiovisual media that were made available to the teacher in the classroom., such as projectors and monitors, DSP, cameras, ceiling microphone, class recording software, video matrix and relay control for powering up the equipment. Given such an offer of audiovisual technology aimed at helping the teacher when teaching the class, The main objective was to facilitate the use of these media. It was decided to incorporate a control system in each classroom.
An AV control system is designed to facilitate the use of technology in any space, but in projects with large deployments of rooms, classes, assembly/grade rooms, etc, like the one projected by the URJC, other additional factors had to be considered. This is the reason why the solution provided by CUE was chosen, by providing additional functional value, both in hardware and in the software developed by AVIT Vision.
CUE Touchcue-7
With all-in-one control system CUE Touchcue-7, which incorporates a touch control panel as a user interface and has an IP controller integrated into the same device, could be simplified, both the equipment of each classroom, such as the complexity of the installation, since there were fewer teams involved.
The advantages of using a touch panel that incorporates inside the controller meant simplifying the integration of the control system, get an easier installation, lower electricity consumption, reduction in failure rate, improvement of maintenance and reduction of inventory per room
AVIT Vision has been in charge of developing a custom software for the university through the programming tool CUE Visual Composer.
This software development is responsible for performing several functions. On the one hand, Provides a simple and intuitive user interface design to make the control system easy to use for everyone. On the other hand, is responsible for sending usage data, alerts, incidences, reports and reports from the entire AV and control ecosystem to the university's cloud platform.
In this way, the technological managers of the URJC can have the necessary data that allows them to understand how AV facilities are used in teaching classrooms.. Thanks to this information, possible failures in the use of the AV installation in the classroom can be short-circuited and anticipated., as well as carry out proactive maintenance actions.
Additionally, The software developed by AVIT Vision allows the control system to be self-configurable. This means that, via a network-distributed settings file, A typical classroom can be configured based on the number and type of audiovisual media available in said classroom..
The software automatically assigns control IP addresses and self-downloads to the control panels themselves.
All this automatic operation facilitates future maintenance, the application of modifications, functional changes and being able to add drivers to devices. All this with the aim of guaranteeing that the URJC classrooms controlled by the CUE systems always have the latest version of the software in a simple and intuitive way., which limits security problems, implementation and update.
Project 400 classes
The project has been implemented through various execution phases. About one hundred classrooms have been intervened each year in the four phases of the project's execution. From the phase 1 in 2021, until the phase 4 in 2024, each technological intervention has involved the integration of audiovisual equipment, as well as the control of these through the CUE control system.
The success of the CUE solution at the URJC is attested by the one hundred percent reliability that the system has offered. Since the launch of this, no CUE touchcue-7 control panel has broken down or caused a functional issue.
