Vari-Lite doubles the capacity of its FLX S consoles with ZerOS 8.0

FLX S lighting consoles Vari-Lite have doubled their capacity and eliminated paid software updates with the new free version ZerOS 8.0, that improves integration with the RigSwitch+ power platform.

“We are witnessing how our users demand more and more from their consolas FLX S, including the number of devices you want to control, along with increased features like the new serie VL600 Acclaim+ -explains Bobby Harrell, console specialist Vari-Lite and director of business development Signify-. We have spent considerable time on ZerOS reengineering to endure largest show archives and offer it for free to our tens of thousands of users”.

Con ZerOS 8.0, the consoles FLX S24 y FLX S48 admit now 96 y 192 devices, respectively, both through 2.048 canales DMX (equivalent to four complete DMX universes).

Besides, this software update doubles the number of views, groups and palettes available on all FLX S consoles, while the FLX model and the ZerOS server have been improved to reach 4.096 canales (equivalent to 8 complete DMX universes).

As Harrell adds, “We are impressed by the positive response to RigSwitch+ and to see installations around the world that already enjoy the power, the flexibility and feature set of our new platform. We wanted to make sure these rooms could control it without having to consume the number of FLX series devices, so we have added new relay functions on ZeroOS”.

Specifically, los usuarios pueden añadir circuitos de relés a todos los dispositivos de su consola sin que ello afecte al número, que pueden controlarse manualmente o permitir que ZerOS los gestione automáticamente, encendiendo cada circuito individual cuando la luminaria conectada sea necesaria y apagándolo cuando no lo sea.

Vari-Lite también ha presentado simultáneamente ZerOS 7.14.4, desarrollado específicamente para mejorar el rendimiento y la estabilidad de las consolas ZerOS heredadas.
