Digico V20

The version 20 of is software of DiGiCo includes work surface integration with Fourier audio devices, the addition of a new Mustard source expander and an optional theater software extension for the Quantum225 console.

Las DiGiCo mixing consoles They have long been praised for various reasons, like its sound, its intuitive operation and its reliability. Maybe less obvious, but equally important, is the fact that the company designs its products with upgradeability and longevity in mind, a point that is demonstrated with the new launch of the version 20 Software for all Quantum and SD-Range consoles.

New V20 Software Update Adds Numerous New Invaluable Features, among which stands out the direct integration of audio Fourier for all Quantum console work surfaces. Users can simply connect their desktop to the transform.engine control network to sync session files and snapshots, as well as to view and control plugins on your console's touch screen.

When activating a channel with an inserted Fourier chain, the plugin chain is displayed on the main console screen. All visual processing is done within transform.engine, without consuming console processing power. From this panel, Parameters can now be controlled using the touch screen and rotary touch dial, feature enabled by plugin manufacturer.

There is also an option to control sessions and snapshots (known as 'Cuelist List') in transform.engine. When enabled, loading a session in the console will load the session of the same name in the Fourier device. Besides, transform.engine can follow commands, including saving a session. Regarding the snapshots, the insertion, the shot, the update, the automatic update status of snapshots, deletion and reordering are copied to the engine, ensuring they stay in sync with the console.

In the version 20, DiGiCo has added support for sound device transmitters. with the new Astral external control device, Macros can be programmed to be activated directly from the transmitter when using the A20-Nexus and A20-SuperNexus receivers. Possible uses for this control could be a simple push to talk, reactivate a separate signal for a director in a broadcast or allow a vocalist to activate or deactivate a specific effects send for their microphone during a performance.

Mustard Font Expander (MSE)

The v20 also incorporates the Mustard Font Expander (MSE), a new dynamics option for Mustard render strips on Quantum consoles. This reduces the level of a signal by a certain amount when it is below a threshold. Works similar to a door, but it is more suitable for non-transient signals, such as voices or brass instruments.

By reducing the level when a singer stops singing, The MSE minimizes the possibility of feedback and, in general, reduces the level of stage noise transmitted to open microphones. Its controls include threshold, depth (that can reach the 40 dB) and release rate. It also has a sidechain.

V20 software is also a necessary update to integrate the software package. software Theatre optional DiGiCo on the company's most compact Quantum console, la Quantum225, suitable for small to medium sized theater productions and venues.

The 'T' package’ modifies the way console reference lists work, designed specifically for theatrical applications, and allows you to manage cast and costume changes using players and aliases. Upgrading to Theater software on a Quantum225 offers the same number of additional channels and processing as the company's Pulse upgrade, con 96 input channels, 48 buses, 36 Mustard processes and 48 nodal processes. Also expands the array even beyond the number of pulses, increasing the 24 in 24.

“When someone invests in a DiGiCo console, You do it with the certainty that your product will be a lasting solution, not something that will quickly become obsolete and need to be replaced in just a few years”, states Austin Freshwater, CEO of DiGiCo. “Since we are always looking for the fastest and most powerful DSP in the industry, The answer lies in software updates that increase the number of channels, optimize processing efficiency and incorporate new functions and features. With our new V20 software, Even SD7 and SD8 users who have had their consoles for more than 15 years can continue enjoying new advances that will keep their productions at the forefront.”

Additional features of the V20 version:

  • By moving a band of the equalizer on the Quantum852 across the physical channel, that band will be selected on the main channel.
  • Subnet mask now displayed in Diagnostics.
  • A confirmation message will appear when deleting a bank from the Fader Bank panel.
  • Several bugs from the previous version of the software have been fixed.
