The five star hotel Das Central de Sölden in Tyrol offers a mountain environment surrounded by luxury. El Summit Spa, with its two floors and glass-enclosed pool, it was built as part of an extensive renovation, which also included a new audio system. For multi-zone sound reinforcement of indoor and outdoor spaces, the integrator Wilderness Studios opted for a simple LD Systems configuration, brand belonging to Adam Hall, based on the Questra design and management platform.
The hotel management approached Wilderness Studios with three requirements: optimal sound, quality design and ease of use. A global concept was developed for the aesthetics and sound of the new areas of the hotel.
“This is a luxury hotel so it is important to offer high quality systems that not only sound classy, but that they have the appearance", explains Felix Brunhuber, director general de Wilderness Studios.
System multizone
The installation at Das Central comprises a total of six audio zones: plus the Summit Skybar, including outdoor terrace, the pool area plus the pool terrace, a large relaxation and wellness area on the upper floor, as well as the lobby are also sound-proofed with different series from LD Systems.
For interior areas, were chosen CURV miniature array 500 as standard solution, some of which were supplemented with subwoofers CURV 500 I SUB. For the exteriors, The team opted for IP55-certified installation speakers from the Series DQor de LD Systems, that have already demonstrated their ability outdoors in other spas such as, For example, in Scandinavia and Slovakia.
Special requirements applied to the lobby sound system. This meant ensuring that front desk staff could speak to hotel guests without being disturbed., while the rest of the lobby areas were filled with background music. The Wilderness Studios team also relied on the directional dispersion of CURV systems 500, used in the hallway in a white shell design.
Easy control via touch panels
A matriz DSP Zone X 1208D from LD Systems with hybrid architecture and Ethernet interface and Dante acts as a signal center for the different audio zones.
In the lobby a IPA installation amplifier 424 T con 4 channels with Questra integration. To ensure that hotel staff have access at all times to all important parameters—volume, font selection, etc.—, The system is controlled by QTP touch panels 8 from LD Systems with a custom Questra user interface.
“Creating user panels with Questra is really easy”, confirma Felix Brunhuber de Wilderness Studios. “Everything can be assembled exactly as needed for the client by drag and drop”.
