ITS Apulia Foundation trusts Alfalite Led technology for its XR study
Modularpix Pro Led panels Alfalite are the core of the new XR virtual production studio of this Italian center, since the training of students and the work of AV creators and professionals is encouraged.
Located in the Italian city of Bari and forming part of the innovative Apulia Digital Lab, This new space is considered one of the most advanced digital production environments in southern Europe, from which students, AV creators and professionals They have a complete XR scenario at their disposal, equipped with the paneles Led Modularpix Pro from the manufacturer Alfalite.
The new Virtual Studio Production (VPS) of the ITS Puglia Foundation is part of a broader initiative to promote technological innovation in the entertainment industry sectors, culture and ICT. The project has been carried out in collaboration with Broadcast Digital Service (BDS), Alfalite local partner, as responsible for the supply and commissioning of the Led systems.
At the heart of this space is a volumen Led curvo, composed of Alfalite Modularpix Pro panels 1.9 ORIM VP XR, with a surface of 48 m² (12×4 metros), which is completed with a Led ceiling 10 m² with panels LedSky ModularPix Pro 3.9 HB VP XR for immersive lighting and reflections.
The Led installation is fully integrated with a professional camera RED, a camera tracking system Mon-Sys for precise synchronization in real time, and one motion capture Movella enabling dynamic character animations and performances in XR.
Along with real-time rendering using Unreal Engine 5 and a complete lighting and broadcast infrastructure, This new studio offers a robust and versatile platform for the production of extended reality experiences, visual effects and virtual sets.

This new virtual production studio is part of a investment of 8 million euros carried out by the ITS Apulia Foundation in state-of-the-art digital infrastructures, which include computing clusters for AI, cybersecurity laboratories and AV environments advanced.
With a training model closely linked to the needs of the market, ITS Apulia Academy registers a job insertion rate close to 87% and acts as a key bridge between education and the changing demands of the ICT and media sectors.

The VP XR study now is fully operational and will serve as a platform for a wide variety of productions, including movies, television shows, advertising, animation and immersive content, in addition to promoting new skills and professional opportunities in the region.
The Alfalite Modularpix Pro VP XR Led panels installed in the Apulia Digital Lab studio incorporate the ORIM technology (Optical Resin Injection Module), a sealing system using optical resin injection that improves precision between modules (<0,5 mm) and provides a 175º expanded viewing angle both horizontal and vertical.
These panels offer a superior protection against electrostatic discharge (ESD > 10kV), better thermal dissipation parameters and excellent impact resistance, liquids, chemicals and fire (with UL94 compliance). Besides, they are easier to clean, They present less deterioration and have the shortest repair time on the market, as the manufacturer assures.
