Elation renews the lighting of the historic Royal du Parc theater

The transition to LED lighting in this important artistic space in Brussels has been made with dynamic ellipsoidal lights, moving heads and cycles Elation, providing new creative possibilities and consistent color performance on stage and in the hall.

Royal du Parc, one of the oldest theaters in Brussels, has released a new lighting system based on the Elation Led technology, whose equipment has been supplied and installed by the Belgian audiovisual specialist XLR, exclusive distributor of the manufacturer in this country.

This Italian style theater, dating from the end of the 18th century, offers productions ranging from classic works with modern touches to new musical creations; an increasingly diverse programming that required migrate to an LED lighting solution to adapt to each style and energy efficient.

The new lighting equipment includes ldynamic ellipsoidal circuits, moving heads and Led profiles de Elation, that are configured in twenty-four KL Profile FC, sweet Fuze Profile, four Fuze Max Profile, eighteen KL CYC L and four KL CYC S, supplied by XLR, according to the specification made by Viktor Budo, theater lighting chief.

Although the theater had already adopted LED technology, or still relied on halogens for FOH lighting, and many visiting teams used to deploy their own LED profile luminaires.

After carrying out several tests, XLR Lighting Account Manager, Pieter van de Velde, and Elation Benelux account manager, Bert Schmeits, selected the Fuze and KL series luminaires, what share the same multicolor RGBMA light engine and align with a unified design concept with consistent color, a light quality with CRI and R9 values and a uniform CCT of 2.400K a 8.500K.

“We constantly use these lights, They give us color and possibilities in a single team that we did not have before, and it has been a benefit for designers of visiting productions, who have seen its potential to find the exact color they need”, Budo points out..

The versatility of the KL Profile FC and Fuze Profile series for FOH “It's fantastic,” adds this lighting designer.. We have the color consistency in the ellipsoidals, cycle and mobile lights. Professionals often want color fades, and these teams do it very well”.

The combination of Fuze Profile and Max Profile, con 10.000 y 20.000 lumens, respectively, offers a powerful and quiet operation. “This range is perfect, with a medium intensity and weight. Other fixtures were too big, noisy or had other problems”, Budo points out.

The KL ProfileFC luminaire is used as general lighting in the room, on the fourth balcony and on the sides, offering visiting lighting designers a familiar ellipsoidal format, with advantages such as gobos and color mixing. “We have received excellent comments about these teams,” says Budo.. They are really impressed with its flexibility”.
