The Mexican Pepsi Center invests in Robe Led mobile lights
This multifunctional venue in Mexico City, with capacity for 8.000 people and different configurations, has trusted again in LED lighting Robe with the installation of Forte models, Spiider and MegaPointe for their productions.
Located in the building complex Mexico City World Trade Center, the known Pepsi Center multipurpose space hosts conferences, trade fairs and music concerts, which for this last case uses a room with ability to 8.000 people standing, with calls every weekend.
This space, inaugurated in 2012, offers different configurations to adapt to the production needs of each promoter. In order to improve this level, those responsible have once again trusted the Robe lighting technology, with the acquisition of new Led equipment, supplied Showco, distributor of this manufacturer in Mexico.
The new Robe lighting package installed in the venue is made up of the Strong models, Spiider y MegaPointe (with sixteen units of each), plus two base stations RoboSpot and another couple of Forte FollowSpots.
These Robe products, along with other luminaires, replace the previous ones, installed in the year 2015. “We needed to update and make sure we continue to offer our customers the best and most versatile options”, explains the production director of Pepsi Center, John Gore.
This is also stated by the production coordinator of this venue., Manuel Medellin: “adapting to the demands of emerging productions drove comprehensive change, covering audio, lighting and video.
Precisely the good performance they had with the previous Robe luminaires made them consider the brand again ten years later. “The quality of the products is exceptional, and it is an internationally recognized and respected brand -Gore emphasizes-. It was what most international artists asked us for., so it all made sense. Besides, Showco service is really excellent, and that is also important”.
The luminosity and great multifunctionality of the Forte luminaire determined their choice, since it can act as a swimsuit or as a beam of light; Spiider were selected for their quality as wash lights and good color mix, while the ease of use, flexibility and improved camera technology corresponded to RoboScot systems.
He reduced consumption of the Led luminaires was another of the advantages. Since the 90% of their shows and productions use in-house equipment, “It's been a fantastic investment. Artists often bring their own packages, but everyone loves our rider”, says Medellin.
They work at Pepsi Center WTC five lighting equipment full time, along with two general technicians and thirteen stagehands, plus six regular freelancers for lighting and sound.
“There is never a dull moment.”, since the shows cover a wide range of genres, from reggaeton until death metal and from EDM to pop. Besides, There is a constant flow of conferences and parties”, concludes Medellín.
