Christie powers immersive Kia E-Ground experience
On a surface of 1.400 square meters a permanent exhibition is offered that combines innovation and nature so that visitors become aware of the importance of sustainability. To support this objective, an immersive installation has been created that has nine 1DLP laser projectors. Christie GS series.
Come on, one of the world's leading automotive manufacturers, has inaugurated in Quito (Ecuador) E-Ground, its first experience center in sustainable mobility solutions in Latin America. At the heart of this innovative space is a immersive installation developed and integrated by the Ecuadorian company Cloudy air, which employs nine Christie GS Series 1DLP Laser Projectors to deliver highly realistic images on curved and interactive surfaces.
Kia E-Ground covers an area of 1.400 square meters and is one hundred percent self-sustaining. This space's mission is to inspire both the region and the world to move towards a greener and more sustainable future.. It is a permanent exhibition that combines innovation and nature to connect visitors with the importance of sustainability.
The main installation is a helical tunnel of 27 square meters inspired by the Fibonacci sequence, a mathematical pattern that reflects how nature generates life, present in phenomena such as flower buds, seashells and galaxies.
Over there, Visitors explore scenarios such as the marine fauna of the Galapagos or the Amazon rainforest., with content generated in real time through Unreal Engine and interactive responses based on LIDAR sensors, that detect the movements of the public to provoke reactions like fish that are scared, jellyfish that react or flowers that are born.
To cover curved walls and floor, Skyluft opted for Christie DWU630-GS projectors with Ultra Short Throw lenses (UST), capable of offering large images at very short distances in small spaces. The equipment is installed on the roof of the tunnel in a spiral shape: three project to the floor and the others to the curved walls of the space.
“We chose Christie projectors for their reliability and performance. DWU630-GS models offer low maintenance, maintain uniform lighting over time and, thanks to the new UST lenses, “They allowed us to face the challenge of projecting in a complex space with variable radii”, explains Roberto Mendizabal, CEO of Skyluft.
The manager adds: “The complexity of the spiral shape and the need for precise warping with nine projectors made this project a unique challenge in the region.”. The technology Christie RealBlack It helped us in the blending and was key to achieving an impeccable result.. The teams are spectacular and, besides, we choose monturas One Mount Christie for easy projection alignment; It really was the best decision, It greatly simplified the adjustment work for us.. Thanks to this combination of factors, We achieved a realistic and interactive space that today welcomes more than 500 daily visitors.
In addition to the Christie projection, The system integrates solutions Kramer to signal transmission via HDBaseT, software the Vioso to warping y blending, and high-performance servers that allow generating interactive content in real time.
Kia E-Ground is presented as a reference for the brand in Ecuador and the region, aligned with its global sustainability strategy 'Plan S'. The installation combines technological innovation and environmental commitment to bring the public closer to a future of electric mobility and respect for the planet.
Christie DWU630-GS projectors, with a shine of 6.750 ISO lumens and WUXGA resolution, offer laser performance up to 20.000 hours without lamps or consumables, which reduces maintenance costs. Its Christie RealBlack technology allows you to achieve a contrast ratio of 4.000.000:1, producing deep blacks that are essential for blending multiple projections. Compacts, silent (36 dBA) and designed for operation 24/7, They are ideal for highly demanding spaces such as Kia E-Ground.
