Looking Glass develops its first HLD hololuminescent display
The new category of HLD display, only 1” thick, developed by Looking Glass allows users to transform videos into realistic 3D holograms and works with digital signage, the CMS and existing AV infrastructure.
In a ultra slim format, only 1” thick, Looking Glass just presented a hololuminescent display (HLD), a new category of display technology that makes video content appear present by improving the standard with actual depth, in 4K resolution and high brightness.
Users can now create videos, multimedia content and interactive experiences with standard tools, deploy content into existing video infrastructure and display it as 3D holograms on Looking Glass HLD display, no need for 3D software processes to create immersive visualizations.
As the company points out, the advertisers, Marketers and retailers who operate in physical spaces need to offer experiences that capture and keep customers' attention. Immersive experiences, such as virtual reality or holographic boxes are difficult to implement on a large scale due to difficulties in content development, space limitations and the number of users who can experience them simultaneously.
Looking Glass's HLD display solves these challenges, since it not only shows the user's video content, but rather “enhances standard content with real depth, all on an ultra-thin screen less than 1” thick and with a resolution of up to 4K”, thanks to the patented hybrid technology by the company, what creates a holographic volume in the optical stack of an LCD or OLED display.
This is how he explains it Shawn Frayne, director ejecutivo de Looking Glass: “we offer magical holograms that can be implemented anywhere. Our new hololuminescent displays are designed to capture attention in advertising environments, retail and live. They are based on a fundamentally new technology that builds on our experience in light fields., but it works perfectly with standard video, CMS and existing advertising infrastructure”.
Available in the fourth quarter of this year, Looking Glass hololuminescent screens will be marketed for now in formats 16, 27 y 86 inches.
“From new product ads that jump off the screen to AI digital characters that actually ‘feel’ present, HLD represents a major step forward towards accessible large-scale holography. Whether you are a creative agency, a content creator or brand, “This new platform makes the dream of immersive, dimensional storytelling more achievable than ever.”.
