Christie Festival Luz Antigua Guatemala

Laser projectors were used during the Antigua Light Festival Christie DWU23-HS with 1DLP technology to carry out spectacular architectural projections on the facades of churches and emblematic public spaces of the city.

Christie projection solutions have illuminated the first large-scale videomapping festival held in Antigua Guatemala. An event transformed the city (World Heritage Site Unesco) on an immersive canvas of light, visual narratives and artistic expression.

Organized by Blessure Guatemala, with technological integration by Cyprus (companies belonging to the AMR group), he Antigua Light Festival used Christie DWU23-HS laser projectors con 1DLP technology to carry out spectacular architectural projections on the facades of churches and emblematic public spaces of the city.

The Light Festival attracted more than 200.000 visitors, who were able to rediscover Antigua. “We wanted to give life to the city in an extraordinary way”, points out Daniel Garcia, responsible for Innovation and Development at Blessure Guatemala. “Projecting onto the colonial facades with Christie technology allowed the artists to tell stories with total creative freedom, connecting people with memory, the land and dreams”.

The screening played a central role in the festival program, which also included lighting installations, digital and contemporary art exhibitions, and a series of conferences and workshops on digital art. “Light became a language to share stories,stories from earth, of dreams and of our people”, Garcia adds..

Christie technology was chosen for its color reproduction, image quality and reliability. “Christie was part of the solution because of the visual excellence she offers”, Garcia stated.. “We have used it in numerous previous events, like the annual mapping of the Metropolitan Cathedral in Guatemala City, and has always delivered more than”.
