Mediapro Exhibitions consolidates its expansion in the US. UU. with an emblematic project in the Freedom Tower
Mediapro Exhibitions, the division of Mediapro Group specialized in the creation and development of exhibition and museum projects, makes the leap to the United States with the production of 'Libertad: The Freedom Tower Exhibition’, a permanent exhibition that can now be visited at the Freedom Tower (Freedom Tower) from Miami.
This exhibition project, in which Mediapro US and Unitecnic have worked closely with Mediapro Exhibitions, It is housed in one of the most emblematic buildings in the city and now led by Miami Dade College, which has recently reopened after an intense restoration. The design of the exhibition has been Local Projects.
Freedom: The Freedom Tower Exhibition It is the main exhibition of the building. This permanent exhibition occupies two floors and seeks to honor historical memory through testimonies and personal stories, revealing the Freedom Tower's role as a beacon of hope and resilience for generations of exiles and immigrants. Inside this, The Refuge in Context runs, through multiple galleries, the shocking stories of those who passed through the building and contributed to forging the identity of what Miami is today.
Comprehensive reform
Inspired by the Giralda of Seville, The Freedom Tower was the headquarters of the defunct Miami Daily News newspaper, and became a symbol as it was the scene of key moments in local history. Declared a National Historical Monument in 2008, During the second half of the last century it became a symbol of exile since among 1962 y 1974 served as a processing center for the approximately 400.000 refugees starting new lives in the United States, providing them with medical care, food and educational and employment resources. After several decades of abandonment, Miami Dade College has undertaken a comprehensive renovation of the building to convert it, on its centenary, in a learning space, creativity and community participation.
