Onerepublic with Digico

Engineers Justin Ripley, como front of house, y Chris Marinaccio, on monitors, are at the forefront of sound with Quantum338 consoles from Digico, supplied by Spectrum Sound (Nashville,EU), on the world tour of the band OneRepublic.

Ripley has been with the band for many years and, as he himself explains, The magnitude and variety of the band's touring schedule will keep them turning to Digico, whatever the venue of the concert.

“Para OneRepublic, The choice to use Digico is based on the reliability to be able to find them anywhere”, explains. “The neutral sound of the console and the fact that the components hold up quite well on the road mean that I have used them all the time. This band will definitely test the limits of the equipment we carry with us due to how much we travel..

Onerepublic with DigicoTravel constantly, with multiple teams on the road, means that Ripley is constantly developing and evolving its archive of shows. As it continues, the technicality of exchange files between consoles It's not something that worries you, but being up to date is.

“I like to use the most recent file available because I have always brought my most recent musical ideas to every show I have done. It's good to have some reference ideas available at all times”, duck. “As I get older, I use fewer toys and worry less and less about sound, so my footprint at Digico is mainly limited to routing and basic sound modeling. The sound of Digico consoles will always keep them in demand”.

Monitor engineer Chris Marinaccio has been with the band for almost a year. at that time, has toured Asia, Middle East, United States and now Europe. As he himself explains, There's no band that tours like OneRepublic, with a total of six Quantum338 always on the road, also supplied by Spectrum Sound. No two days are the same, but having the power of Digico in your team helps make everything go well, no matter what happens.

Robustness

“We have three complete audio teams and a flying team in constant rotation around the world. With the band jumping from one continent to another, can be intense, but it's been amazing”, highlights. “The team is very professional and I am lucky to work alongside two of the best minds in the audio sector: Justin Ripley and production manager Dave McMullin. The Digico Quantum338 are one of the most robust audio equipment I have worked with. We also use a Shared SD-Rack, of the SD-MiNis and a box Orange. Normally, we start unloading the truck in the morning, I configure my control equipment, I install the monitors, I check the Opto-Loop, I confirm the MADI with the video department and check the lines before the show. It's hard to say exactly, because almost nothing is usual with this band. One day we are sending equipment to a mountain in Austria and the next day we are preparing for a big festival in Abu Dhabi.

When the work is so varied, It is essential to have a family workflow and a surface customizable and reliable. As Marinaccio continues, Quick and easily available features on the surface of the Quantum338 make it the ideal companion, regardless of where they end up. “The flexibility of the Quantum338 allows it to easily adapt to both monitoring and room positions”, explains. “Regarding monitoring, customizable layout is crucial; Quick access to auxiliaries and inputs allows for a fast and intuitive workflow. The number of entrances and exits is also an important factor. On this tour we work with some 105 input channels and 34 auxiliaries, and the Q338 manages everything comfortably. The control clusters auxiliary function is very useful for making quick changes to a single-person instrument cluster. Relative groups are another extremely useful feature for making general changes across multiple snapshots., and the auxiliary nodes are amazing for that musician who needs an instrument processed in a completely different way. Even things as simple as fades between snapshots can turn a jarring transition into something that just works.”.

“I exclusively use Digico on tours. No other company offers a table that combines power, flexibility and global availability. I continue to choose Digico for their solid technical support, In addition, the workflow seems very logical to me.. In my opinion, Digico makes the best live sound consoles out there and, for a tour the size of OneRepublic's, Digico is simply the right tool for the job”, concludes Marinaccio.
