The project, developed in collaboration between ARC Audio Visual & IT Solutions Limited (ARC), the distributor Audio Visual Material (AVM) y Christie, was completed in just eight weeks to meet the tight deadline.
The Building Centre's main event space, which hosts exhibitions and meetings in the architecture and construction sector with up to 350 assistants, had specific requirements due to its dimensions, design features and the diversity of events it houses.
Among other challenges was the strong entry of natural light through large windows and the logistical complexity of integrating advanced audiovisual technology into a historic building with constant activity. The goal was to replace a single projector-based setup with a solution that offered high image clarity, brightness and reliability, plus flexibility for different uses.
The system had to adapt both to rCAD technical tours and architectural presentations as well as dynamic video content and live broadcasts. Ease of use and remote administration were also priorities, so that the internal team could manage AV content and operations autonomously, regardless of the complexity of the event.
Since its installation, the new screen in the shape of L, that covers two walls of the exhibition space with an angle of 90º, It has been used for various presentations, design-focused exhibitions and events.
“From the consulting phase to completion, The solution exceeded the client's expectations - he points out Ralph Ellingham, general director of ARC-. We work with Christie, via AVM, for twenty years and is our reference partner in projects that require high-level projection. After installation, we put special emphasis on the detailed delivery of the system, user training and adoption, which has contributed to a positive assessment”.
Ellingham highlights the choice of Christie projection equipment “for its reliability and competitive price.”, two key factors in the decision, and its support before and after the sale makes it even easier to choose the supplier”.
In this line, Danielle Williams, commercial director of AVM, underlines the joint work of all companies. “Completing an upgrade of this complexity in just eight weeks was a significant challenge.”, but the collaboration between AVM, “Christie and ARC allowed us to deliver the project on time and with a high quality standard”.
The Building Center is now the only space in the United Kingdom that has ultra-high resolution 4K displays dedicated to the architecture and construction sector, as pointed out Ben Hounsell, one of its directors.
“We are pleased with the new technology and proud to offer the only immersive displays dedicated to the built environment in the UK,” he says., which makes our exhibitions more accessible to diverse audiences. In addition, Clients who rent the space have valued the versatility of the screen to tell stories and present their brand effectively in our center.
