Martin Kuhn

Martin Kuhn, Vice President, Experiential Technologies en Ross Video, presents in this video interview at Integrated Systems Europe (WHEREAS) 2026 the VERTEX platform that brings together video, audio, lighting and automation in a single system.

The convergence between the experiential audiovisual sector and traditional broadcast is marking a new stage in the production of content and the development of immersive installations. In this context, Ross Video continues to expand its technological ecosystem with the promotion of its unit of Experiential Technologies and the evolution of its platform VERTEX.

Ross Video ISE 2026We are presenting our broadcast solutions, as well as our new business unit for experiential technologies. It's been an incredible few months with the acquisition and our integration into Ross Video”, explica Martin Kuhn, Vice President, Experiential Technologies en Ross Video. The manager highlights that his team comes from a field different from traditional broadcast, focused on live entertainment projects, theaters and brand spaces.

The integration between both worlds is not without challenges. While experiential audiovisual usually works with unconventional screen formats and different frame rates, broadcast is characterized by strong standardization. According to Kuhn, The goal is to combine both approaches: “Provide flexibility, and even a little creativity, from the audiovisual sector to the reliability of the broadcast world that Ross offers”.

In this context, VERTEX is presented as a platform that goes beyond a traditional multimedia server. “We like to say: we have a media server, but we are not just a multimedia server”, notes Kuhn. The system integrates video playback, show control and interactivity in a single production environment capable of managing complex audiovisual installations.

The solution can be deployed using licensed software or integrated into dedicated Ross hardware, connecting with the rest of the company's technological ecosystem. Besides, supports multiple control and playback protocols. “We support a wide range of protocols, from TCP and UDP in show control to full integrations with the Ultrix environment for SDI, ST 2110 o NDI”, explains.

VERTEX is also designed for hybrid environments, where traditional SDI infrastructures coexist with IP-based systems. “The industry is transitioning to hybrid configurations, and VERTEX fits perfectly in the middle of that transition”, says Kuhn.

Operational control

Operational control is another of the pillars of the system. “We take complex solutions and make them easy to control”, assures. For this, Ross offers everything from browser-based web interfaces to PoE tablets designed for permanent installations.

Ross Video ISE 2026The platform is designed for projects of very different scales, from installations with a single HD output to large displays with dozens of screens. “One of our largest facilities, in the Canadian Oasis, has more than 120 Departures”, notes Kuhn.

Looking to the future, Ross sees continued growth in the number of screens, immersive installations and content that must be managed. “There are more screens to fill and more content to manage”, Kuhn concludes., advancing the development of new web-based management tools and operational platforms to simplify these increasingly complex environments.
