Professional sound in a protected historical monument: the case of Nexo and the Théâtre des Variétés
The historic Théâtre des Varietés in the French city of Béziers, a centenary space classified as a protected historical monument, renews its sound technology with the ID84 column speakers from Nexus, adapted to integrate naturally into the environment.
Historical names ranging from Maurice Chevalier until Josephine Baker have stepped on the boards of the emblematic Variety Theater from Béziers. Designed by architect Paul Harrant in 1904, This protected historical monument has been reborn after a restoration in which specialists in scenography and audiovisual technology from Scenarchie They worked to ensure that the original charm and atmosphere was preserved in a venue now equipped for 21st century productions.
For this project, technology had to be hidden as much as possible. The team of stage equipment specialists Texen Vendargues selected ID series speakers Nexus con custom painted finishes to integrate into the environment. Concretely, different pairs of ID84 column speakers on the perimeter of theater and in the first floor, complemented by subwoofers IDS312 y L15, respectively.
With a height of 1 metro, he ID84 features a unique configuration of eight transducers 4 inches with an array of dome tweeters in a baffle curved, resulting in particularly low distortion levels and contributing to hi-fi performance that expands the applications of the ID84 beyond the traditional function of column speakers for voice reproduction. The system has a directivity switch on its rear panel that allows change the vertical dispersion of high frequencies, making the solution a speaker that achieves an especially long range and uniform coverage.
Los ID14 ultracompactos by Nexo, from the same series, perform both filler and monitoring functions in a system powered by pairs of TD power controllers NXAMP4X1Mk2 y NXAMP4X2Mk2.
