Zactrack Pro brings high-precision 3D tracking to the tour “Skeletour” de Ghost

El “Skeletour” de Ghost, an ambitious tour that combines metal and hard rock music with an ambitious theatrical staging, addressed the most critical processes of your lighting design with Zactrack Pro.

The lighting design of Skeletour was created by Tobias Rylander, although direction and lighting management for most of the tour were carried out by Isaiah Mika, of Green Wall Designs. From the first moment, The duo was clear that the Zactrack Pro system would be key to their stage proposal, so they contacted their supplier Tracking Pro, Berlin-based tracking solutions specialist.

Zactrack was deployed in 3D mode to respond to the tour's complex scenic design. Dom McClory, lighting team leader, was in charge of programming the solution with all the information, which was introduced, stored and played back through the grandMA3 lighting console MA Lighting.

The tracking tool managed a total of 19 foci, all of them Vari-Lite VL3600. A total of 17 Zactrack receivers around the stage space, arranged in the shape of a triangle to delimit the monitoring field, which measured approximately 21 meters wide by 20 deep. Each band member who moved around the stage wore two Zactrack trackers on the front and back of their costumes., to ensure proper tool performance.

Complete freedom on stage without sacrificing lighting design

Each of the five musicians They had the freedom to move freely around the stage, knowing that they would always be illuminated by three moving lights. The Zactrack system was assembled during production trials in Production Park, en Wakefield (United Kingdom), with the help of two Tracking Pro technicians, Jaro Brinkmann and Raphael Doelle. PRG UK coordinated lighting and video for all UK and European legs of the tour, while their American counterparts handled the same in North and South America. The lighting director and operator of the last stage was Vada Briceño, while the head of the lighting team for the first two stages was Tom Bider.
