Xavi Bove Visual Soundtrack

The visual artist Xavi Bové will present on Thursday 30 of June the interactive and large format installation 'Visual Soundtrack'. A show that will be held on the façade of the Civic Centre Fort Pienc (Barcelona) and in which the process of creating a picture through the movement of the body will be visualized.

It is a free activity and open to the public, that combines mapping and creative coding techniques, and aims to create a link between a soundtrack and its visual representation, personalized for each user and performed live and in real time.

'Visual Soundtrack’ includes music, film and performing arts. An activity that allows you to experiment with art in an original and accessible way.

Research between sound and image

Each participant will choose a theme from a film soundtrack and through the analysis of sound and its movement will make a pictorial representation in real time. The final piece will be seen live, in large format, on the façade of the civic center.

The show will consist of two parts. At ten o'clock in the evening there will be a show with live music by the pianist Santi Escura and the violinist Frédéric Descargas and with visual interpretation by the dancer Nieves Masó, who will make a demonstration and paint your picture.

From ten thirty at night everyone who wishes can interact with this work: choose your favorite movie song and make a pictorial representation. In addition, participants will be able to take their printed representation home.

This production is possible thanks to the programming of a code, created by Edu Frigola, What, among other parameters, analyzes sound and movement, and makes the representation emulating paint strokes (created by Nacho Cossío). The project is the result of the investigation of the relationships between sound and image that Xavi Bové has carried out throughout his artistic career.
