Mitsubishi Electric has presented the new OLED installation “Geo Cosmos”, the world's first spherical OLED located at the National Museum of Science and Innovation in Tokyo. Suspended to 18 meters from the ground, The sphere that represents the Earth has a diameter and is made of aluminum coated with 10.362 OLED panels, each of 96×96 mm. On the occasion of 10 museum anniversary, Mitsubishi Electric has used scalable OLED technology to replace the previous installation manufactured with LED technology. The sphere projects images of the Earth taken from a weather satellite offering a resolution of more than 10 million pixels, nails 10 times larger than the previous LED screen.
