Imascono applies augmented reality to the textile sector to create interactive garments
Imascono is a company from Zaragoza that seeks a different support for art and design, investigating the concerns of emerging authors and offering them the opportunity they need to express themselves professionally. Under these premises, a new concept of clothing is born that combines textiles and technology., breaking with the standardization of any other character brand ”streetwear”. The objective is to transfer the notion of the classic product to a higher level, in which clothing evolves into a means of interaction and turns out to be an innovative experience for the user, elevating the textile sector to a new category where communication establishes social ties.
The Zaragoza company Imadano launches its first collection this week after having gone through the Zaragoza Activa Ideas Hotbed. In statements to Europa Press, one of the two entrepreneurs who launched the initiative, Pedro Lozano, has stated that the clothing they are going to market is based on augmented reality. In this way, through an electronic device, iPhone or webcam can display the clothing design in 3D. Besides, with this type of clothes, Lozano has highlighted that the idea focuses on carrying out “a clothing brand that supports young designers to make collaborations”.
With this initiative, Pedro Lozano and the engineer Héctor Paz presented themselves to the Zaragoza Activa Ideas Hotbed, where they have developed six months of training. “The visit to Semillero has been key to seeing if the project could work”, Lozano has emphasized, who added that “the training has been excellent, the very high level and has been a very important support to continue working”. That's why, for Lozano “It is essential that the second edition has started because it is what we were missing in Zaragoza, an initiative that will help young entrepreneurs”.
First collection
This week Imascono's first clothing collection is released, which is made with designs from the Grossman illustrators studio, formed by young Aragonese living in Barcelona. This launch will be promoted above all by social networks, given that “It is something very related to technologies, so we believe that the normal thing is to promote it through the same”, Lozano explained.
In addition, has clarified that since it is a launch through ICT - Information and Communication Technologies- the scope in terms of countries can be quite wide. So, and with the help of the Grossman studio, Imascono is going to distribute its products directly to 10 European countries and the United States. “The Grossman studio works a lot in the United States and has a lot of prestige, so we hope that through their Facebook and their website we will achieve a lot of momentum”, Lozano has detailed.
Although in principle the project has only been underway for approximately a year - since the previous edition of the 'Seedbed of Ideas'- The company is planning to expand its content. The immediate goal for these entrepreneurs is that in their second clothing collection not only can 3D be seen through the iPhone., also with an application for all Android mobile phones.
