The Basque Health Service (SVS) – fellowship, has announced the award of the contract for services for the construction of a comprehensive home telecare solution to Accenture in collaboration with Ilitia Technologies y Bicave Consulting.
The SVS-Osakidetza published this tender to cover its need for telecare treatment of chronic patients based on the use of technological platforms, must satisfy two key premises: the mandatory incorporation of technologies in training/information systems, technologies that are directly applicable to the Health environment and that must provide a “friendly interface” with people; and the frontal rejection of technicians, patients or professionals would invalidate the solution presented by the bidder.
In the words of the SVS-Osakidetza, “The desired scenario is not limited to the modernization of the practices currently known and used., but aims to work on an idea that encompasses more than just technologies, We look for concepts that allow us to apply these to what should be a system of interrelation between patients and companions., clinicians and the health administration.”
To this tender held under the modality of competitive dialogue during the months of May to October of this year, Ibermática/Tecnalia Inspiring Business, among others, attended (UTE) and Indra Systems/LKS/Joseph Matia Bald Foundation (UTE). Finally, The winning proposal was the one presented by the group of companies formed by Accenture, Ilitia Technologies y Bicave Consulting.
The Bicave Consulting proposal, Accenture and Ilitia Technologies consist of a solution based on Microsoft Kinect. The use of Kinect provides a very simple means of gestural interaction, naturalness and ease of use for the patient: You do not need to use any additional controls or accessory elements., but only body movements that the system recognizes.
The device can perform facial recognition to identify the patient and allows access to the various functionalities of the system with a simple movement of the hand. Kinect detects whole body movement in 3D, as well as the patient's voice. Gracias a Kinect, Interaction with the system will be very intuitive and natural, avoiding the rejection of those patients less familiar with the use of technology and consequently obtaining a high satisfaction and acceptance ratio.
