Samsung has signed an agreement with the Higher School of Engineering and Architecture of the Pontifical University of Salamanca on its Madrid campus for the development of a mobile application that will facilitate presence control in classrooms and that will be tested through a pilot project during the next academic semester..

The regulations of the new Bologna Curriculum, that requires the control of attendance of university students to class, has served as an incentive to bring NFC technology to the university under the agreement signed between Samsung Electronics Spain and the Higher School of Engineering and Architecture of the Pontifical University of Salamanca on its Madrid campus,

The agreement will allow the development of a pilot experience during which the application will be tested in the real environment of a class, counting on the participation of the teacher and the students and whose purpose will be to be able to know and manage those cases that arise and thus avoid problems in the future..

In this R&D&I project, directed by Professor Sergio Ríos, Bada mobile terminals will be used 2.0 and Samsung Android, provided with NFC technology (Near Field Communication) that allows establishing wireless communication between nearby devices with multiple uses such as data sharing or transactions.

Thanks to this solution, The student will be able to register their attendance to class by simply passing the terminal (with the previously downloaded application) by the NFC card that will be located at the entrance to the classroom. Immediately after, You will receive confirmation of your registration on your mobile phone through the application and you will be able to consult all your class attendance in detail.

For teachers, The implementation of this new attendance control model will prevent you from having to take roll call, being able to consult the registered students in the application, as well as their level of class attendance during the semester, which will result in better use of teaching hours.
