Autodesk Alias helps Volvo in the design of its Concept You model
Volvo has turned to Autodesk Alias design and visualization software to design its new Concept You model, a tribute to the design of the classic models of the Swedish brand.
Volvo Car Corporation automobile brand (Volvo) has revealed that the visualization and design software of Autodesk has been the key to success in the design of your Concept You car, which was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show last fall. They wanted to continue with the Volvo Concept Universe line, and for that, The design team had to reinvent their ideas and create a sophisticated and complete model in a matter of months., with a fully equipped interior. And it was achieved that both the exterior and the interior, show Volvo's vision for the future of luxury cars.
When using Autodesk Alias software, The modeling team was able to quickly create digital prototypes from the designer's initial sketches.. This allowed it to be perfected and tested on the screen, thus saving time and maintaining the original design. As a result, designers are able to choose the best option from a technical point of view and visualize the car quickly, without having to start from the initial sketch in each new idea.
The Volvo team always develops its models under a very tight deadline, but work against the clock like this, are becoming more and more common in this industry. Cars are becoming increasingly complex and sophisticated with high technical content, so manufacturers are under pressure to design more and faster, as they seek to reduce costs. Like Volvo, More and more manufacturers are using Autodesk Alias to speed up the entire design process, from concept to class A modeling.
As part of the design work, Volvo has also used Autodesk Showcase software for the design development team so they can easily understand what is being created.. Despite the tight time frame, The new prototype was ready for the fair and gave a lot to talk about. The specialized press was full of praise, describing the car as “very well made”, “a much needed tone” or simply “impressive”.
