With the help of iPad kiosks, The Leonardo Museum in Salt Lake City (EU) is rapidly gaining popularity among those who like to explore art in a whole new way, fascinating its visitors with exhibits that connect science, technology and art in a unique and captivating way.

The Leonardo, an art museum in downtown Salt Lake City, has decided to use the latest technologies to reach visitors. The art gallery has installed iPad kiosks designed by the company ArmorActive to allow visitors to know the details of the museum's various exhibitions through the use of video, touch screens and Internet to connect with works of art.

Upon entering the lobby, Interactive LED exhibition captures visitors' interest “Dynamic Performance”. The exhibition allows individuals to connect with the artwork on Twitter through an iPad kiosk. Users send a tweet to @leoartwall and the exhibition responds with a light performance related to the information.

Interactive experience

Lisa Davis, museum communications director, has explained that “at The Leonardo we have to be up to date… changing all the time, and the iPad allows us to do that at a very low cost. The iPad kiosk allows us to secure the technology so we can continue to offer visitors a very interactive and personal experience, and it also gives meaning to the museum.”

Each iPad kiosk located in the museum has been specifically chosen and programmed to complement the overall design and desired experience that each artist had envisioned for their pieces.. iPad kiosks chosen for The Leonardo include ArmorActive's Full Metal Jacket and Radius lines, both in kiosk solutions for museums and retail due to its elegant design, its mobility and ease of commissioning.

The Leonardo also uses the iPad as an information portal and audio stations with the Figure mount 8 VESA by ArmorActive 8 in various places within the museum itself.
