Microsoft Research researcher Hrvoje Benko has developed a new technology, llamada OmniTouch, that allows, through an interactive projector, perform different actions, like receive calls or manage notes on any surface.

The research and development center of Microsoft has devised a system that is capable of transforming any surface into “a touch surface”. This system is based on a pico projector and a camera similar to Kinect that is capable of detecting the surface on which the interface must be broadcast and how to adapt it so that it does not look bad on different surfaces..

The device is mounted on the user's shoulder and from there projects an image onto any type of surface in front of it., adapting its size to the surface for greater comfort. When we have already thought about where we want to work, Different buttons are displayed with which we can interact virtually. Among them is a Paint-style application or a number pad to make calls with access to settings, the agenda, etc, straight from the wall. This new system also works on the palm of the hand, on top of a notebook or any other smooth surface without the need for the projector to be calibrated.
