JCDecaux installs a prototype of the bus stop of the future in Paris
The Place de la Bastille in Paris has opened a new bus stop with a futuristic image equipped with digital signage that provides information on public transport means. (bus, metro, taxis, bicycles) from the French capital.
JCDecaux has deployed a 'smart' bus stop’ in the Place de la Bastille in Paris. It has four digital screens, three of which are touch screens integrated into one of the stop columns. They are connected to the Internet and show information about the different means of public transport in the French capital. (bus, metro, taxis, Velib bikes), as well as about the shops and tourist attractions in the area.
LED bars at the top of the column inform about bus departure times and the main news of the day.
This bus stop is part of the Smart Urban Furniture Project launched by the Paris City Council in February 2011.
