Samsung Techwin has announced that its network cameras have been integrated with the video management system (VMS) de Mirasys, Helsinki-based company (Finland) which develops and supplies software that helps organizations manage information obtained through digital video capture, from CCTV cameras.

Network cameras Samsung have been successfully integrated with the video management software platform (VMS) of Mirasys, that can receive images, simultaneously, both analog cameras and IP cameras. The software, which is based on an open architecture and supports the H.264 compression method, can run on hundreds of servers and an unlimited number of fixed and mobile workstations, through a browser.

Tim Biddulph, IP Product Manager and Samsung Techwin Europe, has manifested: “As a single supplier offering solutions for analogue video surveillance systems, hybrid and IP networks, Samsung is committed to offering our customers the flexibility to choose the perfect combination of security products that meet their specific needs.. That's why, we want to help customers find a gradual transition from their current video surveillance solution to another 100% IP. Our integration with Mirasys is part of an ongoing program to integrate with leading independent software vendors, that can offer software “open” and specifically designed to facilitate the integration of equipment and systems from different manufacturers”.

VMS for IP and analog cameras

Mirasys and Samsung technical teams have worked together to provide a high level of integration and enable users of Mirasys video management software to control several of the features of Samsung network cameras., including automatic camera detection, PTZ control, two-way sound, alarm input/output, motion detection, infrared LEDs, on and off control, and time synchronization, that allow a server to automatically synchronize the camera with the system time.
