AMD launches its new FirePro W9000 professional graphics, W8000, W7000 y W5000

AMD has released its latest line of graphics for workstations, composed of AMD FirePro W900 models, W8000, W7000 y W5000, all built on AMD's Graphics Core Next Architecture, and designed to offer a balance of compute and 3D workloads to help digital signage professionals.

AMD has launched its new AMD FirePro W-series family video cards (Worksatation) for professional applications. The new models are all based on the GCN architecture (Graphics Core Next Architecture) and according to AMD they are the most powerful workstation graphics cards ever created. The new models that AMD releases for the professional market are FirePro W9000, FirePro W8000, FirePro W7000 y FirePro W5000, that are optimized and certified for balanced computing and 3D workloads in applications such as computer-aided design (CAD), engineering, entertainment and media (M&E), digital signage and other professional uses of the industry in general.

These cards, using AMD Eyefinity technology, can manage up to 6 independent 30” screens using Multi-Stream Transport technology (MST) with ultra-high resolutions of 4096x2160 pixels. Another characteristic of these video cards is that they have memories with ECC registers (Error Correcting Code) in addition to offering double precision computing up to 1 TFLOPs and single precision computing up to 4 TFLOPs. Double precision calculation allows professionals to experience high precision in calculations such as structure analysis and molecular analysis, without affecting performance.
