Sony's video surveillance solution "bears fruit""

Saba Fruit & Green AB, a Swedish fruit and vegetable wholesaler, has opted for Sony video surveillance technology to improve the security of its storage facilities.

When Saba Frukt & Green AB, a Scandinavian company dedicated to the import and distribution of fruits, vegetables and flowers, sought to streamline and optimize its current security configuration and, at the same time, incorporate the latest technologies, they resorted to Sony for a cost-effective hybrid solution. Every year they spend approximately 210.000.000 kg. of fruits and vegetables of more than 70 countries by the central warehouse of this company, located on the outskirts of Helsingborg (Sweden).

The previous security solution was analog. Replacing all system components with IP-based products would have been a costly investment. Instead of that, Saba contacted Daniel Ahlberg, a specialist in comprehensive video surveillance solutions from the company DCC Övervakningsteknik, a Helsingborg.

Sony Solution

Sony Professional's solution interested Saba and DCC Övervakningsteknik. Daniel Ahlberg commented: “It wasn't just the image quality that influenced our decision. A hybrid solution offers a flexible and cost-effective transition to IP technology, as existing analog components can be integrated into the new system. In addition, We were able to develop and test our specific solution in the Sony test center”.
