Interactive Cook and Experience, an original interactive lamp that opens the kitchen to new sensations
Julen Pejenaute Beorlegi from Donostia, student at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, has developed 'ICE’ (Interactive Cook and Experience), a device that is both illuminating, cooking assistant and scanner that detects movements on the table and the food we are going to cook.
Inspired by the culinary trajectory of our country, in its great chefs and with the aim of turning the kitchen into a more functional and fun space, Basque engineer Julen Pejenaute Beorlegi has designed an interactive lamp equipped with a 3D scanner system and a projector capable of taking the gastronomic experience to another level.
‘ICE’ (Interactive Cook and Experience) allows you to regulate the intensity and color of the table on which it is projected, directly choose recipes from a database or scan the products on the table. Pejenaute explained to EFE that it is an interactive system that reacts to the physical environment and has several functions., for example kitchen mode, for which an infrared sensor makes it possible to detect the ingredients placed on the table, suggest recipes that can be cooked with them and project them to follow them step by step.
In case you miss any ingredient, You can also create a shopping list and send it by email. Experience mode allows, according to its author, accompany the tasting of dishes with effects, so that it allows you to select a theme (romantic, friends, job, family and cocktail), a background and create an interaction between the objects and foods on the table through light connections or with the use of drawing tools. For example, if you are eating seafood, you can enjoy an aquatic environment.
The interactive lamp is designed for the home, restaurants and cooking schools, and in the optical lamp function it allows you to regulate the intensity and color of the table on which it is projected. Its technology is based on currently existing prototypes and its creator thinks that it will not be many years until the software necessary for its development is a reality in our kitchens..
