Dallmeier, manufacturer of professional video security technology and network-based IP video surveillance systems, has supplied the Panomera multi-sensor system, a novel camera technology developed especially for complete video surveillance of large areas, to the football stadiums of the German teams Borussia Mönchengladbach and Bayer Leverkusen.

The German football clubs Borussia Mönchengladbach and Bayer Leverkusen have started the Bundesliga season by inaugurating new super-video surveillance cameras intended to guarantee greater security in their respective stadiums. The equipment, Installation and service have been supplied by video surveillance technology specialist Dallmeier and IT service provider Stemmer.

When they defeated Hoffenheim at the Borussia Park stadium in their first match of the new Bundesliga season, Those of Borussia Mönchengladbach were enjoying more than just the victory on the field. They also had a lot to celebrate in terms of security: The new video surveillance system provides clear images of the stands from the initial whistle to the ninety minute. The same thing happens in Leverkusen. Working with the club's IT department, Stemmer and Dallmeier were in charge of supplying the new cameras to the BayArena. With the new digital cameras, and in close collaboration with security experts and the police, The two Bundesliga football clubs hope to be able to respond to incidents more quickly and with greater precision, and thus improve security inside the stadium.

The cameras are aimed primarily at areas of the stadium where criminal or violent acts are most likely to occur.. In the past, German prosecutors were hampered because only magnetic tapes were admitted as evidence in the crime case. but now, Courts are also accepting tamper-proof digital storage methods.

Bernhard Nießen, head of stadium operations and head of security at Borussia Mönchengladbach, has pointed out: “With the new cameras, we are providing even more comprehensive security coverage, y podemos localizar a los infractores con más eficiencia”. As soon as an incident occurs, police can focus on people using zoom function. So, criminals and suspects can be brought to justice on the day of the match. Recordings are also stored digitally. “This allows us to carry out a thorough investigation that will be used in a court of law”, Niessen continues. This ability is also a deterrent, and its goal is to make people think twice before committing a crime.

Sistema multisensor

The solution is based on 'Panomera' camera technology’ from Dallmeier. The exclusive multifocal sensor system has been specially developed to provide video surveillance over large areas, such as stadiums, large parking lots or airports. By applying the principles of geometric construction, Pixels are used in such a way that even more distant objects can be represented with the same resolution as foreground objects. “With a resolution of this type, a passport photograph of the culprit can be created from more than a hundred meters away”, Nießen explained.

In order to ensure that such a video surveillance system works perfectly at large-scale events that regularly bring together up to 50.000 spectators, la infraestructura IT y de red debe ser capaz de soportar las condiciones más exigentes. High-resolution video technology must be able to transmit and process enormous amounts of data and store it so that it is completely invulnerable to manipulation. This aspect is the responsibility of Stemmer: the IT service provider responsible for planning, installation and all essential services as a single source.

“Installing and operating video surveillance systems of this magnitude requires a tremendous amount of network experience and extensive technical knowledge.. Our collaboration with Dallmeier is the perfect combination of these requirements “, ha apuntado Pantelis Assikoglou, director general de Stemmer.
