Maga Engineering, Avid Venue and AKG at the service of 007
The past 27 In October, the Heineken Skyfall party was held in Madrid to promote the new film of the most famous secret agent in the world., and the audio production had equipment from Maga Engineering, AKG and Avid, brands distributed in Spain by the audio equipment supplier Neotécnica.
On the occasion of the premiere of the latest installment of the saga 007, 'Rainfall’ and to present the winners of its 'Crack the Case' promotional contest, Heineken organized a spectacular party in Madrid. More than 20.000 watts of Maga Engineering, a complete microphone set AKG and mixing with a system Avid Venue Profile provided luxurious sound, and all the DJs mixed with the new AKG by Tiësto headphones. The event took place at the ADIF facilities in Madrid-Abroñigal (Railway Museum), with a surprising contrast produced by the glamor of the party and an industrial-looking frame.
A ship of enormous dimensions, former railway factory and workshop, was the scene of this spectacular party for 1.500 personas, which featured a performance by No Band for Lluvia and several DJs, with Delorean as headliner. The global production of the event was carried out by the company Last Lap, who was able to create a magical environment, something like a real trip.
Audio distribution
Four main points were installed as a PA system, each consisting of two Maga Engineering ME118SND subwoofer units and three ME10V line array elements, all in floor stacks and amplified by Lab.gruppen PLM10000Q units. Two points of this main PA system were placed next to the stage, while the other two points were placed as delay units to 16 meters away, given the rectangular and very elongated layout of the enclosure.
The Maga Engineering ME12WA venues also had a great role. (multi-purpose floor/PA monitor), with five units placed on stage as floor monitors for the No Band for Luvia performance, two others in a vertical position as sidefill, two others as monitors for the DJs and, finally, two other units welcoming guests at the entrance/photocall, in this case also located as PA in a vertical position. In this entrance/photocall area, an adjacent screen played the trailer for the film, with the soundtrack coming out on ME12WA.
Two Maga Engineering ME6.5S units in white version were placed in the VIP area. This box is perfect for environments where elegance prevails, thanks to its small size, the possibility of customizing the colors and its superb sound response. Some of the old carriages that are part of this railway museum were also converted into bar counters, and the guests who had a drink there enjoyed background music with the ME6.5S, in this case with the black finish.
Sistema Venue Profile from Avid
Audio mixing for the entire event was carried out with a Venue Profile system. For aesthetic and space reasons the control was placed behind the stage, but it was possible to remotely control it via iPad from the party area. Two Focal CMS monitors were used to follow the mix at the table position. 50. Regarding signal routing to the four PA points, stage monitors, sidefill, DJ monitors, zona photocall, VIP area and carriages, The help of the powerful Venue software was impressive.
They also took two AKG DMS700 digital wireless systems, in addition to a complete arsenal of microphones from the Austrian brand, where the new V12 VR for bass drum was included. All the DJs used the new AKG by Tiësto headphones for their sets, including Delorean.
