The Basilica of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona has welcomed Christmas with a creative lighting of the nativity façade along with the reading of recorded fragments of 'Nadal's Poem’ by Josep Maria de Sagarra in a show that will be repeated, each 10 minutes, of 18 a 21 afternoon hours from 20 al 23 December.

sacred_familyThe Basilica of the Sagrada Familia wanted to congratulate the arrival of Christmas to Barcelonans and tourists with the reading of fragments of 'Nadal's Poem’ by Josep Maria de Sagarra along with special and creative lighting of the nativity façade on days 20, 21, 22 y 23 between the 18.00 and the 21:00h. Through a creative play of lights, in blue and purple tones, fragments of Sagarra's poem are projected, recited by the actors Lluís Soler and Anna Ycobalzeta, while the lights illuminate different scenes of the birth reproduced on the façade itself.

The lighting, that highlights some of the scenes sculpted on the façade, will serve to transmit, through the symbolism of sculptures, “a message of faith, hope and charity towards those most in need”, the basilica indicated in a statement. The animation is done continuously in loops every 10 minutes, so that everyone present can enjoy a show of light and tradition.
