LG announces 100 short throw laser projector″
LG adds and continues with its advances for CES 2013 and now it's the turn of a short throw projector with laser technology. Its name will be 'Hecto Laser TV', and will have the ability to generate a screen of 100 inches just over half a meter away from the projection area.
Just over a week until the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), to be held in Las Vegas (EU) of the 8 al 11 January, LG Electronics has unveiled a new display technology within its portfolio of large screen displays. This is 'Hecto Laser TV', a two-piece system that includes a special screen and an external ultra-short throw projector.
The system, which will be shown for the first time at the Las Vegas Convention Center, offers Full HD 1080p resolution and a contrast ratio of 1.000.000:1, using LG's laser-based light engine that also eliminates the need for frequent lamp changes, with a duration of 25.000 laser hours without needing to be replaced.
The projector can be located just 56 centimeters of a wall or screen to project an image size of up to 100 inches from a tabletop or ceiling mount. Uses a special prism and optical array to spray the image upwards, using a laser light source and a special DLP chip. With minimal installation assistance required, It has been designed to be self-contained with a built-in HD tuner, Smart TV functionality and speakers 10 W. It will be compatible with control using the new LG Magic Remote and at the connectivity level it offers three HDMI inputs, puerto RS-232, WiDi y WiFi Direct, with access to content from Netflix or YouTube among others.
Besides, provides image quality “equivalent to that of plasma”, Tim Alessi stated, LG product planning director. “Offers great levels of color and black, Motion reproduction is excellent and you don't need a completely dark room as you would with a traditional projector”, has added.
