Caliber UK debuts new processors for projection and LED sources at ISE
Caliber UK is present at ISE 2013 to showcase its wide range of HQView and LEDView image switches and scalers, with the prominent presence of the LED video display image scaler LEDView530 and the two new models of scalers with mapping and edge blending support HQView530 and HQView325.
The manufacturer of image processing products, Calibre UK, starts the year 2013 celebrating his 25 anniversary in the business and what better than the Integrated Systems Europe fair to commemorate such an important date. The British firm has grown, with a wider range of products than ever, available in more territories, and through more distribution channels than ever.
Tim Brooksbank, president of Caliber UK, has recognized: “The last ones 25 years have been tremendous. Our focus on research and development, Cutting-edge engineering and the highest possible image quality has allowed us to build a presence in more markets, and our customer base is growing all the time. We are now firmly established worldwide as a manufacturer of image processing technology., but at the same time we feel that there is greater growth in the making.”
Underscoring the company's growth potential, Caliber UK has leveraged ISE as a launch pad for a series of new products designed to expand its offering for the professional AV and systems integration markets.
So, The company has presented the LEDView530 at ISE, an LED video display image scaler designed specifically for ease of use by production staff managing rental and direct LED video walls, sporting events and venues. Featuring an easy-to-use front control panel with jog wheels and front LCD display for ultra-fast installation, The LEDView530 is a flexible matrix switcher and interface for connecting LED displays from almost any HD and SD video source to intuitively process images into a display that transforms any space..
LEDView530 offers drag and drop image sizing functions using the jog wheel to fit content to the LED display. All input channels and video formats are automatically scaled to fit this easy-to-define area, no need to go back to the zoom and pan controls, and without the need to recalibrate for different input resolutions or signal formats.
The LEDView530 can handle displays as small as 128x96 pixels or as large as 1920x1200. It also has a useful multi-unit mode with auto-zoom functionality.. Multiple LEDView530s connected together, each powering its own LED screen, They can create large video walls. Up to four displays can be combined to create a maximum resolution of 7.680 x 4.800.
New mapping and edge blending scaler
Caliber UK has also debuted the HQView530 in Amsterdam - which has similar capabilities to the LEDView530 but has a feature set more suitable for multiple projectors.- and the HQView325, a product aimed at improving the technical and commercial perspectives of projection with soft edge blending of 4 Sides with multi-region black level correction for seamless blending of images from multiple projectors with full image warp mapping support.
The HQView325 combines the performance of the HQView500 series with digital I/O compatibility with HDMI and DVI formats including deep color and HDCP support.. Incorporates a powerful mixing algorithm in a dedicated mixing processor with better grayscale rendering in the projector's mixing region. The HQView325 performs edge blending using a complex de-gamma and re-gamma process where video content is converted to linear pixel data.. Light intensity is precisely controlled on a per color and per pixel basis, so that the blend can be truly seamless, even with grayscale information and so that black level corrections can be applied without causing color shift or gamma errors – a valuable asset for complex projection surfaces.
The Caliber UK HQView325 operates at 16 bits per color per pixel, 48 bits in total. The HQView325's flexible image warping allows users to geometrically correct an image shape and easy projector mapping alignment for curved and flat displays. Simple rack-mount unit comes with an easy-to-use front panel OSD-based user interface, as well as a built-in web server for browser control and a PC-hosted warp generator tool.
“Demand for the HQView325 has been overwhelming and we believe we have a new winning product on our hands.. By offering multi-zone black level correction and management, This processor is ideal for applications where multiple projectors are used in rooms with low ambient light, such as command and control centers, visitor attractions, and simulation and training”, added Brooksbank.
