The technological legacy of Steve Jobs, founder of Apple, continues to spread to digital classrooms, in this case from eleven educational centers in Holland, in which the devices and tools of this company are the training axis.
The organization's academic project 'Education for a new era' (O4NT) Its basic pillar is the latest devices and tools developed by Apple, in what is called 'Steve Jobs Schools'. Holland has been the first European country to materialize it in eleven centers, to which more than a thousand students have already enrolled 4 y 12 years.
The educational proposal of these digital schools is defined as “the set between a physical building and a virtual space”, in which all students work with an iPad and interactive digital screens; each one has a personalized avatar and collaborates with the rest in a virtual space or patio, learn in multifunctional classrooms, among other tools.
As Maurice de Hond points out, founding member of O4NT, “We want to prepare children for the world after 2025 with the tools we have today, not like most schools, that prepare children with yesterday's tools for yesterday's world.".

All students have an iPad, the primary tool in this learning, “since this device allows learning in multiple formats: video, presentations, animated text, audio, presentations and share it with others”, emphasizes this responsible.
Virtual and 3D innovation
This personalized and virtual model, called sCoolSpace, allows the student to develop other facets, in which it is formed in different 'locales'”: language venue, creative, technical laboratory, arithmetic,…and you can do it from home, since the device has access to the school's virtual headquarters, even on vacation, as De Hond points out, since they are 'open' through the iPad 24×7.
Besides, Students have a virtual playground, based on 3D technology, where you can meet your colleagues, play, chat, share your works,…
For your part, Parents can monitor the educational evolution of their children, supervise their work and the groups through a web application created specifically for these schools.
O4NT, the organization that promotes the Steve Jobs School, was founded in March 2012 by a group of educational and new technology specialists to offer an educational alternative adapted to the 21st century and in which the development of talent predominates, the collaboration and skill of each student.
Admission to Steve Jobs schools is free, since they are financed by the Dutch government, and parents pay for some applications and, in some cases, the iPad with a monthly fee.
