IFA 2013: Sony offers high image quality in 4K format with its VPL-VW500ES projector
Sony has presented at IFA 2013 its new range of UltraHD projectors with a model with 4K resolution, HDMI connection 2.0 and a system to improve images with full HD quality.
Among the new features presented by Sony at the present IFA celebration 2013 (Hall 4.2), which ends next 11 September in Berlin, highlights its commitment to UltraHD in projection systems, like your new VPL-VW500ES in 4K format, Designed to bring high image quality from the big screen to the home.
VPL-VW500ES expands Sony's range of 4K home cinema projectors, in the line of the VPL-VW1000ES model, the first in the world with native 4K resolution, which the company presented in January 2012.
Ok Nakane, Head of Display Products at Sony Europe, has noted that “VPL-VW500ES brings the authentic cinema experience to the home like never before and reinforces Sony's commitment to leading 4K innovation from the camera lens to the viewer's living room.”.
This new model offers high-quality 4K content, with resolution of 4,096×2.160, which is created with native SXRD 4K panels, which the company developed long ago for the professional digital cinema market. Besides, The projector incorporates the new HDMI standard 2.0 to offer 4Ka video 60 images per second, bringing fluidity to the action without the need for electronic pixel enhancement.
The VPL-WV500ES projector has a brightness of 1.700 Ansi lumens and a contrast of 200.000:1, allowing you to display very sharp and visually contrasted images. Also includes an exclusive 4K processor, denominado Reality Creation, which increases the high resolution of 1,080p content, allowing viewers to enjoy 4K images on their Blu-ray discs, even in 3D.
Added to this is optimal color reproduction thanks to Triluminos display technology., an improved optical engine design and automatic calibration functions. Manual color correction tool allows users to adjust the tone, saturation and brightness for custom image quality, to the viewer's taste.
This projector integrates a front air outlet cooling system and allows you to project at great distances without having to change the position of the equipment in the room.. Use an electric zoom lens 2,06 with a wide range of possibilities, eliminating the need for additional platforms in rooftop installations. Integrated RF transmitter provides greater installation flexibility with a powerful wireless signal for greater coverage.
Another novelty in Sony's projection at IFA 2013 has been the 3D full HD home cinema model VPL-HW55ES, the new generation of the VPL-HW50ES that the company presented at this same event in its last edition.
The optimization of light efficiency and the optical block make it possible for the VPL-HW55ES projector to achieve a brightness of 1.700 Ansi lumens, delivering sharper images in well-lit environments. Improved cooling system extends lamp life up to, approximately, 5.000 hours.
The optical engine upgrade, Contrast enhancement technology and Advanced Iris3 technology enable a dynamic contrast ratio of more than 120.000:1, increasing black and white levels without reducing peak brightness to maximize detail in dark scenes.
Additional functions, such as bright cinema and bright television modes, with SXRD panels, further enhance the 3D image, to which is added Sony's Reality Creation technology.
VPL-HW55ES has an integrated 3D IR transmitter, and is compatible with an external 3D RF transmitter, which provides greater stability and coverage in 3D synchronization.
Both projectors have wireless HDMI compatibility as an optional accessory. This allows them to receive a video signal from Blu-ray players and video game consoles, allowing the audiovisual environment to be free of cables.
