In order to guarantee the operability of the Spanish judicial chambers, Red.es has commissioned Informática El Corte Inglés to implement an audiovisual system that allows the recording of judicial acts and the realization of videoconferences in the courtrooms.

Videoconferencing in the courts

Red.es, public business entity attached to the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism, has commissioned to Computer Science El Corte Inglés (Iecisa) the implementation of a project to integrate an advanced audiovisual recording system of hearings in Spanish courtrooms. The goal, guarantee its correct operability, in accordance with the requirements of the New Judicial Office (NOJ).

The NOJ is the result of a reform promoted to modernize justice and rationalize its personal infrastructure, material and technological. Within the framework of this commitment, the Action Plan 2012-2014 of the General Secretariat of the Administration of Justice intends to address concrete actions aimed at transforming and improving management and optimizing procedures and spending.

The Judicial Office is one of the drivers of this change. In its approach it includes the need to strengthen the guarantees of the justiciable for what is introduced, in the Criminal Procedure Act, recording views in a generalized way, responsibility is, which is the responsibility of the court clerk, in his capacity as a public notary.

Spanish Supreme Court

Informática El Corte Inglés will proceed to the installation of all the equipment related to the recording of judicial acts and the realization of videoconferences in the courtrooms. Its attributions also include the installation and configuration of the view recording application and its integration with the systems and platforms with which it interacts., as well as the migration of existing information in courtrooms and venues, from previous systems.

The agreement also includes the commitment by Iecisa to promote training for users in the use of applications and installed hardware equipment, as well as the provision of on-site support and technical assistance services, to ensure the optimal functioning of the systems implemented.

The Autonomous Communities of Galicia, Andalusia, Aragon and Asturias, will be the first to launch the initiative.
