Powersoft X Series increases amplification power to a new standard

The participation of the amplifier firm Powersoft in the recent Proligh contest + Sound 2014 In Frankfurt, the international presentation of its new X series of amplifiers took place., with which the company plans to change the professional market.

The Italian manufacturer of class D amplifiers Powersoft has not left indifferent the professionals who have attended Prolight + Sound 2014, held in the middle of this month at Messe Frankfurt, after presenting the new X Series as “the new generation of professional amplifiers that will change the market landscape”, as those responsible assure.

Much more than just an amplifier, the new X Series is an innovative channel routing system, a new universal standard with two-phase and three-phase balanced power supply and a powerful, full-featured DSP .

Claudio Lastrucci, Powersoft RD director, explains that “our engineers have focused on the future during the design of the Series, on what we think amplifiers will require for the next ten years, and we have developed a platform capable of responding to these needs, providing future-proof expansion capacity”.

The Series X supports AES3 native form, two redundant Dante analog and digital inputs/outputs by Audinate and up to four different input sources selectable per channel. It is made up of two models: X8, which is the largest amplifier in the range (eight in a 2U chassis), y X4, Featuring four channels in a single rack unit.

Both models share the same power density, capable of delivering up to 5,200W @ 2 ohms per channel. Flexible and secure, The power supply is suitable for 85 V AC up to 440 V AC for single phase, two-phase or three-phase, without the need for manual selection.

Designed for both low and high impedance applications, Powersoft X8 and X4 amplifiers are equally suitable for concert tours and professional fixed installations. Modular construction allows rear input/output connections for XLR connectors / speakON o Phoenix , depending on the requirements of each specific application .

Power management is very easy and simple thanks to the integration of an innovative low latency DSP in the system, which provides optimal quality in audio signal processing, as well as a complete mix path of the input/output channels.

The X Series signal processing and management architecture is comprised of six distinct sections: input source selection, input processing, Matrix , pre-output processing, speaker routing and output processing .

Configuration parameters are fully integrated into Armonía Pro Audio Suite, offering an intuitive interface for adjustment, Comprehensive control of digital audio processing and complete real-time monitoring of system performance. Besides, A WiFi connection integrated into the system allows it to be managed through any smartphone or tablet through a user interface developed specifically for local monitoring.
