Roland XS series

This new line of multiformat matrices of Roland Offers greater flexibility for installations that require quality audio and video conversion and mixing, as it incorporates eight HDMI inputs, RGB/Component/S-video/Composite and up to four HDMI or HDBaseT outputs with PinP-enabled scalers, resizing, Rotation and investment.

Audio can be embedded in outputs from the eight analog inputs (two of them microphone) and/or HDMI audio. In addition, This new range of arrays includes control from iPad EDID emulation and HDCP management.

The XS Multi-Format Matrix Switcher range, that Roland will show for the first time during InfoComm 2014, of the 14 to the 20 June at Las Vegas Convention Center, consists of three models: 8-in x 4-out (XS-84H), 8-in x 3-out (XS-83H) and 8-in x 2-out (XS-82H), to meet the needs of many applications, as conference rooms and education, convention centers, teleconference, as well as in the change from 4K to 1,080p.

All XX Series models can be controlled remotely with the native iPad XS Remote app, as well as RS-232 and LAN, which is very useful in installations where the unit is not accessible or a simple touch control is required. The XS-84 model is capable of working with four simultaneous video inputs, allowing the use of 4K sources. Multi-format capabilities allow 4K, Hd, Sd, XGA and other computer formats up to 1,920×1.200Q (WUXGA).

Multi-screen video control

One of the advantages of XS arrays in advanced video processes focuses on multi-screen video control in installations, as well as live productions. It is possible to scale an image on multiple displays using multiple outputs simultaneously with Span mode and easily switch to a different image on each display using Matrix mode. Each input channel allows scaling adjustments, position, aspect ratio before departure, offering the best possible image quality.

In educational settings, XS Series offers the ability to switch between HDCP-protected signals and computers, Phones, Tablets, Blu-ray and even still images from an internal memory. Up to four HDBaseT outputs can be used for long wiring runs, streaming audio and video simultaneously.

For teleconferencing applications, These multi-format arrays include four buses each with audio and video, that can be used to create a 'minus-one' audio bus to avoid feedback problems. It also includes ducking function to adjust audio levels when a microphone is used in conference environments or boardrooms.
