The tenth edition of Berlin Lights Festival, which ends next 19 October, has transformed the German capital into a city where the creativity and magic of lighting and the latest LED display technology take over its main monuments and buildings..
'The colors of joy' is the theme chosen this year to celebrate the tenth anniversary of this festival, where Potsdamer Platz is the nerve center and luminous center of the city. The common thread of this display of light, visualization and color is the Berlin of the years 20, with more than thirty different scenarios in nineteen emblematic buildings, a dozen streets and two squares, where recreational activities also take place for all types of audiences.

As Andreas Boehlke recalls, creator of the Berlin Lights Festival, this spectacular event that is now celebrating ten years, arose in the year 2002 when walking along the Kurfürstendamm, one of the main arteries of the city, noticed that it needed creative and welcoming lighting and, especially in their buildings, when the autumn and winter period began.
As in other editions, The celebration of this festival of light and color has had the collaboration of the city's government manager and a large number of lighting companies, visualization and installation, as well as the creativity of important lighting designers of international renown.
Among the numerous activities being carried out in the German capital, 'Lumissimo' stands out, starring a videomapping and games of light on the façade of the cathedral, accompanied by a concert of one of the most international works of the composer Beethoven: 'Ode to Joy' (‘Ode to Joy’).
