The Abbey Theater is illuminated with ETC systems for the 'City Theater' project
Three productions of the 'City Theater' initiative, that are performed at Madrid's Teatro de la Abadía, have relied on ETC lighting systems to deliver a wide range of light and power on stage.
The well-known Teatro de la Abadía in Madrid has had six cuts Source Four Led series 2 from the manufacturer ETC (whose products it distributes in the Spanish market Stonex) to host three productions that encompass the so-called 'City Theatre', specifically for the emblematic works of 'Antigone', 'Medea' and 'Oedipus the King', that are represented from the past 21 April and until next 21 June in this Madrid center.
Under the direction of Alfredo Sanzol, Andrés Limia and Miguel del Arco, 'City Theater’ It is a project that aims to serve as a point of reflection, research and production of contemporary theater. In this initiative, the well-known specialists Juanjo Llorens have participated in the lighting design., Pedro Yagüe and Valentín, giving life and color to the illumination in these three Greek tragedies.
For this production they have used the Source Four Led Series systems 2, whose functionalities provide a wide range of color and power to offer a new vision of the color field in lighting through LED systems..
The play with color and its variety have been some of the characteristics that have attracted the most attention in this production. Among them, Pedro Yagüe included in the work 'Oedipus the King' (top image) a color with a blue-green base, that normally does not fall within the usual color palette, He pointed out that thanks to this “I have found tones that I never thought I could reach.”.
For your part, Juanjo Llorens has been in charge of shedding light on the Greco-Latin tragedy, 'Antigone' (first image), where he used the LED cutouts in conjunction with the conventional ones. Finally, the illuminator Valentín brought light to the work 'Medea' (bottom image).
