Muhba El Call: AV and interactive systems to learn about the history of the Jewish quarter of Barcelona

Opened a few months ago, he Muhba The Call has recovered for the world the heritage of the Jewish community of Barcelona, who played an important role in this city during the Middle Ages until their tragic disappearance in the year 1391.
El Call or Jewish neighborhood, in its original name and of which the street layout is preserved, It is located in the headquarters of the Barcelona History Museum, in what was the home of the Jewish veil weaver Yusef Bonhiac.
The Muhba El Call center is structured into three different spaces to learn about what their life was like from an economic point of view., political, social and cultural and the legacy they have left from all this, thanks to the archives and remains found in the area, just as has happened with the recovery of the Roman remains of the city, the Domus Avignon (more details in Digital AV Magazine).
The project is supported by audiovisual systems and the integration carried out by Base 2 Audiovisual, with the collaboration and supply of equipment Charmex, and in the museum design and assembly solution of the specialist BCN sketch.
The tour begins in a first space with tactile and interactive audiovisual systems to show the visitor the layout of the Jewish quarter, its structure and divisions. A second space introduces you, through an explanatory video, in the history and origins of the Jewish community of Barcelona; the formation of this community, his life in the Call and how in the 19th century, specifically in the year 1391, disappeared tragically, according to information obtained thanks to documents and archives and material found in the Montjuitc necropolis, with a third expositional part of the heritage and legacy found in Barcelona's Jewish quarter.
